INSTALLATION

APPLIANCE POSITIONING• The tumble dryer must be installed in

a clean position, where dirt does notcollect.

• Air must flow freely around the appli-ance. Make sure that the front airflowslots in the bottom of the applianceare not blocked .

• To keep vibration and noise at theminimum, when the tumble dryer op-erates, it must be put on a stable andflat surface.

• When the appliance is put in its per-manent position, check if is fully levelwith the aid of a spirit level. If it isnot, adjust the feet until it is.

• Do not remove the feet. Do not de-crease the floor clearance throughthick carpets, bar of wood or equiva-lent. This can increase the heat whichcan cause interference with the oper-ation of the appliance.

• The temperature of the hotair which occurs in the tumbledryer can increase to 60 °C.The appliance must not be in-stalled on the floor which isnot resistant to high tempera-tures.

• When the tumble dryer oper-ates, the room temperaturemust not be lower than +5 °Cand higher than +35 °C. Thiscan cause unwanted effect onthe performance of the appli-ance.

• If it is necessary to move theappliance, it must be movedvertically.

• The appliance must not be in-stalled behind a lockabledoor, a sliding door, a doorwith a hinge on the oppositeside to that of the appliancein such a way that a full open-ing of the tumble dryer is re-stricted.

UNPACKINGCAUTION!

Before use all parts of the transportpackaging must be removed.1. Open loading door.

THE VENT HOSEINSTALLATION

There are 3 vent outlets: on theleft, right side and at the rear.

1. Pull the ring nut A from the ventoutlet at the rear.

2. Screw on the ring nut to the hoseand push it into position.

3. The not used vents must be sealedwith supplied covers.

If the hose is long and the roomtemperature low, the moisturemight condense to water insidethe hose. This is an usual occur-rence. To prevent this waterfrom the hose, it is recommendto drill a small hole (via. 3 mm) inthe lowest point of the hose andto put a small container belowit. (See picture, point B).

Make sure that the vent hoselength is less than 2 m, and thatit contains no more than 2bends.

As to the outlet itself, if you have deci-ded on a install wall/window grille, agood local builder’s merchant can sup-ply you with the necessary fittings andinstallation advice.

WARNING!It is important not to connectthe vent hose to, for example, acooker hood, or a chimney orflue pipe designed to transmitthe exhaust from a fuel burningappliance.

Note that to prevent condensationproblems, it is essential that the dryerbe installed with the flexible hose totransmit its “exhaust” at least beyondthe kitchen units; preferable outside thekitchen. In order to prevent the appli-ance from overheating, it is important

22

Page 23: User’s Manual - AEG Appliances | Home PERFECT RESULTS Thank you for choosing this AEG product. We have created it to give you impeccable performance for many years, with …

that the steam exhaust is unobstructed. Thus, if a permanent hose installed toan external wall or ceiling, it must beensured an exhaust capacity of mini-mum 150 m3/h. If the dryer is installedadjacent to kitchen units, make surethat the vent hose is not squashed. Ifthe hose is not fully squashed, dryingefficiency will be decreased , resultingin longer drying times and higher ener-gy consumption. If the hose is fullysquashed, the automatic cut-outs withwhich the appliance is fitted can oper-ate. When operating the tumble dryer, the room temperature must not be low-er than +5°C and higher than +35°C, asit can affect the performance of the ap-pliance.

THE LOAD DOOR REVERSALWARNING!Before changing the door stop, disconnect the mains plug.

1. Open load door.2. Unscrew hinge A from the front of

the appliance and remove the loaddoor.

3. Remove cover plates B. To do this, put a thin screwdriver into the slotsas shown in the illustration, pushdown lightly and remove the coverplates.
