LightWave Optical Pickup System
Atlantis is the first guitar ever offered with LightWave’s exclusivepickuptechnology,theLightWaveOpticalPick-upSystem, thatuses infrared light technology tosensestring vibration for a rich, natural, amplified acoustic guitar soundwithoutthefeedbackofmicsortheharshnessofpiezos.
Unlikepiezopickupsthatsensethevibrationofthebridgerather than the strings, which produces that strident,quackysound,theAtlantisLightWaveOpticalPickupliter-ally‘sees’thestring,deliveringasmooth,naturalacousticsound, rich inharmoniccontent.Piezosalsohaveverypoorattackcharacteristics, while theLightWaveOpticalPickuphasextremesensitivityandwidedynamicrange,capableofdetectingallofthesubtlenuanceandarticula-tionoftheplayer’sstyle.
The Voice of the StringTm
What you will hear is extraordinary: the sound of thestrings, the sound of the instrument, and most impor-tantly,thesoundofyourplaying.Youwillnoticeawholenew sensitivity in the interaction between your fingers, the stringsandtheinstrument,thatwillcreateanewpaletteofsubtlenuancesanduniquetonalities.Playingbig,openchords,closeintervals,complexvoicings,andharmonicsonyourAtlantiswillbearevelation.Youwillhearanopen-ness, transparency and dimensionality unlike anythingyouhavepreviouslyexperienced.
