2. INTRODUCTION• TheCADACPatioBBQisdesignedforoutdoorcookingenthusiasts,whichmakesitidealforpatioentertaining.• Theeaseofuseandtheversatilityoftheinterchangeablegrillsallowforavarietyofcookingmethods,whetheryouare
entertainingacrowdorbarbecuingfortwo.• TheBBQGridisidealforbarbecuingcutsofmeat,kebabs,vegetables,chickenorfish.• TheWarmingRack expands the cooking area and is great forwarmingbreads andcooking jacketpotatoes or stuffed
vegetables.• TheSideBurnerisidealforcookingfoodormakingasaucewhilebarbecuing.(Onlyavailableonmodels98501-ZA-SSC,

3. SAfETy INfORMATION• Thehoseandsealontheregulatormustbecheckedforwearordamagebeforeeveryuseandbeforeconnectingtothegas
cylinder(SeeFig.1).• Donotmovetheapplianceduringuse.• Ensuretheapplianceisusedawayfromflammablematerials.Minimumsafedistancesare1,2mabovetheapplianceand
600mmtotherearandsidesoftheappliance(See Fig. 2).• Donotuseanappliancethatisdamaged,leakingorwhichdoesnotoperateproperly.• Ensurethatthegascylinderisconnectedorchangedinawellventilatedarea,preferablyoutdoors,awayfromanysource
ofignitionsuchasopenflames,andawayfromotherpeople.• Keepgascylindersawayfromheatandflames.Donotplaceonastoveoranyotherhotsurface.• Ensurethattheassembledunitisstableanddoesnotrock.• Donotcoverorchangetheprimaryairsupplyaperturesintheburnersasthiswillaffecttheperformanceoftheproduct
andmayleadtoanunstableflame.• Intheeventofburnback,wheretheflameburnsbackandignitesatthejet,immediatelyturnoffthegassupplybyfirst
closingthecontrolvalveonthegascylinderandthentheappliancevalve.Aftertheflameisextinguishedremovetheregulatorandchecktheconditionofitsseal,replacethesealifindoubt.Alsocheckthatthejetisnotblocked.Replaceifindoubt.Re-lighttheapplianceasdescribedinSection5.Shouldtheflamelightbackpersistently,returntheproducttoyourauthorisedCADACrepairagent.
• Ifthereisaleakonyourappliance(smellofgas),turnoffthegassupply,firstatthecontrolvalveonthecylinderandthenonyourappliancebyturningthecontrolknobsfullyclockwise.
• Ifyouwishtocheckforleaksonyourappliance,doitoutside.Nevertrytodetectleaksusingaflame.Thecorrectwayistosmearthejointwithsoapywater.Openthegassupply,ifbubblesform,thenthereisagasleak.Immediatelyturnoffthegassupplyfirstlybyclosingthecontrolvalveonthegascylinderandthentheappliancevalves.Checkthatalltheconnectionsareproperlyfitted.Recheckwithsoapywater.IfagasleakpersistsreturntheproducttoyourCADACdealerforinspection/repair.
• Donotmodifytheapplianceoruseitforanythingforwhichithasnotbeendesigned.Anymodificationoftheappliancemaybedangerous.
• During use, part of the appliance will becomehot,particularlythecookingareasandthehood.Avoidtouchinghotpartswithyourbarehands.Theuseofovenglovesisrecommended.
• Keepyoungchildrenawayfromtheapplianceatalltimes.
• This appliance consumes oxygen and needsventilationforoptimumperformanceandforthesafetyofthoseincloseproximity.
Note!• BeforeusingtheCADACPatioBBQitisnecessary
to fit the hose and a CADAC 2.8kPa pressureregulator. the hose and regulator are suppliedwith the Patio BBQ and comply with SABS1156-2/BS3212andSABS1237respectively.
• Donottwistorpinchthehose.EnsurethatitisroutedawayfromtheBBQbodysoastopreventdeterioration / damage to the hose caused byheat.
• Fit one end of the lowpressure hose onto theregulatornozzleandtheotherendontothePatioBBQnozzlebypushingitonasfaraspossible.EnsuretheO-ringispresent,ingoodcondition& fitted properly. Do not use the appliancewithouttheO-ringfitted.Firmlyclamphoseintopositionusingahoseclampatbothendsofthehose(See Fig. 1 & 3).
• Ensurethattheconnectionsaremadesecurelyanddonotallowgastoleak.Checkforgasleaksbefore using the Patio BBQ. Ensure that theappliancecontrolvalvesare intheoffpositionbyturningtheknobsfullyclockwisetotheirstop(See Fig. 4).
4. fITTING AND ChANGING ThE GAS CylINDER• Beforeconnectingtheappliancetoagascylinder,
ensurethattherubbersealontheregulatorisinposition and in good condition. Carry out thischeckeachtimeyoufittheappliancetoagascylinder (See Fig. 1).
• Blowoutanydustfromthecylinderopeningtopreventpossibleblockageofthejet.
• Hang the cylinder on the cylinder bracketsituatedonthesideofthetrolley.
• Ensurethatthegascylinderisfittedorchangedinawellventilatedlocationoutdoors,awayfromanysourceofignitionsuchasnakedflames,andawayfromotherpeople.
• Makesurethatthegascylinderiskeptuprightatalltimes.Screwtheregulatorontothecylinderuntilitisfullyengaged.Handtightenonly.
• If there is a leak on your appliance (smell ofgas), extinguish all sources of ignition in thevicinity of theappliance. If youwish tocheckfor leaks on your appliance, use soapy waterwhich is applied to the joints. A formation ofbubbleswillindicateagasleak.Checkthatalltheconnectionsaresecurelyfittedandre-checkwithsoapywater. Ifyoucannot rectify thegasleak, do not use the appliance. Contact yourlocalCADACstockistforassistance.
• When changing a gas cylinder, first close thecylinder valve and then the appliance valve,makingsuretheflameisextinguished,unscrewthe regulator. Re-fit the regulator to a fullcylinder following the same precautions asdescribedabove.

5. USING ThE APPlIANCE• Do not stand the cylinder on the ground when using the
applianceorwhenitisconnectedtotheappliance.ItmustbehangingfromthecylinderbracketsituatedonthesideofyourBBQ.
• Usethisapplianceonlyonafirmlevelsurface.• Beforeuseensurethatthedriptrayisinplace.Ithelpsto
placewaterorsandinthetraybeforeusingtheapplianceas the fat will drip into the sand and this will assist inpreventingflaring.Itwillalsoassistincleaningafteruseasthefatwillbeeasiertoremovefromthesurfaceofthedriptray.
• Note:Neverplacesawdustoranyothercombustiblematerialinoronthedriptray.
• Makesurethatthecylinderiscorrectlyfittedtotheapplianceandthatthecylindercontrolvalveisintheopenposition.
• Tolighttheapplianceusingtheautomaticignitor,pushinandturnthecontrolknobinananti-clockwisedirectionuntilspringresistanceisfelt.Holdtheknobinthispositionfor3-5secondstoallowthegastoflowandthenturntheknobfullyanti-clockwisetotheONposition.Thiswillcausetheautomaticignitortolighttheburner.ShouldtheburnernotigniteturnthecontrolknobtotheOFFpositionandrepeattheprocessuntiltheburnerignites.
• Note!AllburnersarefittedwithanautomaticIgnitor.• Cross lighting:TolighttheburnersusingCrosslighting,lightthelefthandburnerasdescribedabove.• Tolighttheremainderoftheburners,simplyturntheircontrolknobstotheHIGHpositionwhileensuringthatthelighting
sequenceissuchthatanyburnertobelitupisdirectlyadjacenttoaburnerwhichisalreadyburning.• Manual ignition:Tolighttheburnersmanually,firstremovethegridsandthedeflectorplatedirectlyunderneathit.Strikea
matchandpositionitnexttothelefthandburner.Turnonthegassupplytothatburneronlybypushingthecontrolvalveinandturningitinananti-clockwisedirection.Thiswillignitetheburner.Oncetheburnerisignited,carefullyreplacethedeflectorplateandpressedgrids.Youwillnowbeabletolighttheremainderoftheburnersasdescribedin‘Crosslighting’.
• Usethecontrolknobstoadjusttheindividualburnerflameintensitytothedesiredlevelbyturningtheknobanti-clockwisetoincreasetheflameandclockwisetodecreaseit.Ifflaringoccurs,firstcheckthattheprimaryairsupplyaperturesintheburnermixingtubearenotblocked.
• After use, first close valve on gas cylinder. When the flame has extinguished close the burner control valves on theappliancebyturningcontrolknobsfullyclockwise.
• Usingtheair-intakeadjuster: (See Fig. 5)• Anormalflameisblueandmayhaveayellowtip.Iftheflameiscompletelyyellow,itmaybethattheair-intakeadjuster
isnotcorrectlyset.Tosettheair-intakeadjuster,followthestepsbelow:• Dependingonwheretheapplianceisoperated,itmaybenecessarytosettheair-intakeadjuster.• Toobtainablueflame,loosenthelockingscrewandadjusttheair-adjusterbyrotatingitclockwiseoranti-clockwiseuntil
thedesiredflameisobtained.• Thisprocessneedstoberepeatedonalltheburners.
6. COOkING ON ThE APPlIANCE • Thegridsheatupevenly,searingmeatsandlockingintheirnaturaljuicesandflavours.• Preheatthegridsbeforecooking.lightlycoatyourfoodwithoil,topreventitstickingtothegrids.• Forthebestresults,keepthelidclosedwhilecooking,andonlyuse2burnersonHIGH.Theheatinsidethelidshouldnot
exceed250°C.
7. DIRECT OR INDIRECT COOkING• Directcookingisrecommendedforfoodsthatcanbecookedinlessthanhalfanhour(e.g.steaks,fishfillets,chops,
hamburgerpatties,etc.).• Foodisplaceddirectlyovertheheatsource.Asjuicesfromthefooddripontothedeflectorplate,itcreatesthe“smoke”
thatgivesthefoodthatirresistiblebarbecueflavour.• Indirectcookingissimilartoroastingandisrecommendedforwholemeats(e.g.roasts,wholechickens,vegetablesoreven
bakingbread,etc)thatneedtobecookedslowly.• Thisisdonebyeitherturningdowntheheatsourceorbylightingthetwosideburnersonlyandplacingthefoodoverthe
centreburner.• Allcookingdoneinthismannerrequiresthelidtobeclosed.Withthelidclosedthecirculatedheatensuresthatthefood
iscookedevenly,muchlikeaconvectionoven.• Thebuilt-inthermometerinthelidindicatesthecookingtemperatureinsidethebarbecueandcanbeusedtomonitorand
controltheheatsettingsforexcellentresults.
8. CARING fOR ThE COOkING SURfACES• Youwilladdyearstothelifeofyourgridifyouuseplasticorwoodenutensilswhencooking.• Donotoverheatthegridandalwaysaddalittlecookingoiltothesurfacebeforeuse.• Alwaysallowthegridtocoolbeforeimmersingitinwater.• Vitreousenamelisperfectlysafeinthedishwasher,butthesurfaceissoeasytocleanthataquickhandwashdoesthe
trick.Theuseofabrasivedetergentsisnotrecommended,asthiswillpermanentlyscratchormarkthesurface.• Ifthroughmisuse,burnedgreaseorfoodresiduecollectsonthesurface,itcanusuallyberemovedwithwarmwaterand
milddetergent.Inanextremecase,itcanberemovedbyathoroughcleaningwithamixtureof3tablespoonsofbleach,1tablespoonofliquiddetergentand1cupofwater.Applytothecookingsurfacewithaspongeorplasticscrubbingpad.Aftercleaning,reconditionthesurfacewithalightwipeofoilbeforere-use.
9. GENERAl MAINTENANCE• Therearenopredeterminedmaintenanceintervalsforthisappliance.• Itisdangeroustouseanappliancewithacrackedorperishedsealand/orhose.Inspectbothsealsandhoseregularlyand
replaceiftheyarenotinorder,beforeusingtheappliance.• Iftheappliancewasinuse,itwillbehot.Allowtocoolsufficientlybeforeattemptinganymaintenance.• ItishighlyrecommendedthatyoucovertheBBQwithaCADACBBQcover.ThisisespeciallyimportantiftheBBQstands
outsideonthepatioasitwillneedtobeprotectedfromtheelements.• TheCADACPatioBBQisfittedwithaCADACJettoregulatethecorrectamountofgas.ShouldtheholeintheJetbecome
blockedthismayresultinasmallflameornoflameatall.DonotattempttocleantheJetwithapinorothersuchdeviceasthismaydamagetheorifice,whichcouldmaketheapplianceunsafe.
ReplacingaBlockedJet• Ensurethatthecylindervalveisclosed,thendisconnecttheappliancefromthegascylinder.• Removethegrids.Removetheenamelleddeflectorplatestoexposetheburners.Removethedriptrayandtheretaining
screwsoftheaffectedburner.• Removetheaffectedburnerbyliftingitoutofitslocationtakingcarenottodamagethecontrolvalvewhilstdoingso.This
willexposethejet.• Unscrewtheblockedjetwithasuitablespannerandreplaceitwithanewjet.Donotusepliersonthejetasthismay
damagethejetmakingitunusableorimpossibletoremove.• DonotovertightenasthismaydamagetheJet.Tore-assemble,reversetheaboveprocedure.Replacement of Hose• Thehoselengthshouldbebetween800mmand1.2m.Checktheexpirydateonthehoseandreplacewhennecessary.
FittingofahoseisdescribedinSection3.OnlylPGhosethatcomplieswithBS3212orSANS1156-2maybeusedwiththisappliance.
Replacement of Regulator• Itisimportantthattheconnectionbetweentheregulatoroutletandthelowpressurehoseistightandthatitissecured
withametalhoseclamp.Alwayscheckthejointforgasleaksasdescribedinsection3abovebeforeuse.
10. TROUBlE ShOOTING• Anormalflameisblueandmayhaveanorangeoryellowtip.Iftheflameiscompletelyyellow,itmaybethatthejetisnot
securelyfitted.Re-tightentogiveagastightseal.Anoverfilledgascylindercanalsocauselargeyellowflames.Cylindershouldbereturnedtofillingstationandcheckedbyweight.
• CheckthattheprimaryairsupplyaperturesintheBurnersareclearandfreeofobstructions.Alsocheckthattherearenoobstructionsinsidetheventuri.Removetheaffectedburnerbyliftingitoutofitslocation(see‘ReplacingaBlockedJet’above).Removewhatevermaterialisblockingtheventuri,suchasinsectnests.
• Iftheflamepowerdropsorthegaswillnotlight,checkthatthegascylinderstillcontainsgas(shaketohearthenoisemadebyaliquid).Ifthereisstillgas,thejetmighthavebecomeblockedorpartiallyblocked.
• Ifyoususpectablockedjet,followtheinstructionsabove.
11. ClEANING• Thewarmingrackisremovedbyliftingitfromthebodyandcanbewashedinadetergentsolution.• Tocleantheenamelleddeflectorplates,washtheminawarmsoapywatersolutionoranon-abrasivedetergent.• Tocleanthecookingsurfacesanddriptray,immerseinasoapywatersolutiontoloosenthecookingresiduesandbrush
withastiffbrush.Rinseincleanwater.• Tocleanthebody,simplywipewithadampclothusingalittledetergent,ifnecessary.• Tohelppreventrustonthestainlesssteelunits,itisrecommendedthateverysooftentheBBQiscleanedusingadamp
clothandwater,andthereafterrinsedusingahandfulofBicarbonateofSodainabucketofcoldwater.• Aftercleaningandrinsing,itisimperativethattheBBQisthoroughlydriedbeforecoveringwithaCADACBBQcover.• Donotuseabrasivecleanersorscourersasthiswillcausepermanentdamagetothepaintedsurface.

12. STORAGE• Handletheappliancewithcare.Donotdropit.• Afteruse,waituntiltheappliancehascooleddown,disconnectitfromthegascylinderandstoreinacooldryplaceaway
fromheat.• Keepthehoodclosedwhennotinuseasthiswillpreventtheingressofdirtandinsects,whichmayaffectthegasflow.• AlwaysprotectyourBBQwithaCADACBBQcoverasthiswillhelptoprotectitfromtheelements.

Thewarrantywillonlyapplyiftheunitisassembledandoperatedinaccordancewiththeprintedinstructions.UseofaCADACBBQcoverwillhelpensurelongerlifeofyourBBQ.
CADACmayrequirereasonableproofofyourdateofpurchase.THEREFORE,YOUSHOUlDRETAINYOURSAlESSlIPORINVOICE.
ThislimitedWarrantyshallbelimitedtotherepairorreplacementofpartsthatprovedefectiveundernormaluseandserviceandwhichonexaminationshallindicate,toCADAC’ssatisfaction,theyaredefective.Beforereturninganyparts,contactthecustomerservicerepresentativeinyourregionusingthecontactinformationprovidedwithyourmanualorcall0860223220(RSAonly).IfCADACconfirmsthedefectandapprovestheclaim,CADACwillelecttoreplacesuchpartswithoutcharge.CADACwillreturnpartstothepurchaser,freightorpostageprepaid.
This limited Warranty does not cover any failures or operating difficulties due to accident, abuse, misuse, alteration,misapplication,vandalism,improperinstallationorimpropermaintenanceorservice,orfailuretoperformnormalandroutinemaintenance, includingbutnot limited todamagecausedby insectswithin theburner tubes,as setout in thisowner’smanual.
Deteriorationordamageduetosevereweatherconditionssuchashail,hurricanes,earthquakesortornadoes,discolorationduetoexposuretochemicalseitherdirectlyorintheatmosphere,isnotcoveredbythislimitedWarranty.
TherearenootherexpresswarrantsexceptassetforthhereinandanyapplicableimpliedwarrantiesofmerchantabilityandfitnessarelimitedindurationtotheperiodofcoverageofthisexpresswrittenlimitedWarranty.Someregionsdonotallowlimitationonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sothislimitationmaynotapplytoyou.
CADACisnotliableforanyspecial,indirectorconsequentialdamages.Someregionsdonotallowtheexclusionorlimitationofincidentalorconsequentialdamages,tothislimitationorexclusionmaynotapplytoyou.
CADACdoesnotauthoriseanypersonorcompanytoassumefor itanyobligationor liability inconnectionwiththesale,installation,use,removal,return,orreplacementofitsequipment;andnosuchrepresentationsarebindingonCADAC.ThisWarrantyappliesonlytoproductssoldatretail.
