1. REFERENCES
INTRODUCTION Current trends to be seen in all areas of rehabilitation call for clinical practices to be ever more oriented towards tasks and ecological contexts, for
exercise to be ever more meaningful for the patient, simple, and self-explanatory.
This means that an important feature of the rehabilitation process is the introduction of various items used on a day-to-day basis and used by the
patient, in order to experience how to grip these properly.
The added value of intensive protocols is well known, as is the importance of supervision for repeating the correct gesture.
Along with attachable aids, positional bio-feedback monitoring systems are also recommended. These can be easily fitted and enable exercises to be
performed better and better, even as far as trunk proximal monitoring is concerned.
Once the defect / compensation to be monitored has been identified, and the feedback device has been positioned and calibrated for the patient,
he/she can exercise independently, extending their activity beyond the time the therapist is able to give them, while ensuring the same high quality
exercise.
Particular care should be given to very elderly patients that are often excluded from rehabilitation processes without any plausible justification,
except for financial reasons.
This exclusion greatly reduces the possibility of recovering and maintaining functional independence.
Combining aids and frames makes it possible to target more patients within the same occupational rehabilitation process, while involving the same
personnel.
PURPOSE, CONTENTS, AND INTENDED USERS The intended users of this manual are all individuals who work with the various equipment.
The purpose of this instruction manual is to guide users in making the best use of the exercise aid, keeping it effective and efficient, showing a new
and more qualified approach to Occupational Therapy.

2. INTENDED USE
Our THEOREM modular system was conceived to provide the highest modularity and flexibility when using the aids, thus increasing the range of
possible applications via a rehabilitation program that can be tailored to each patient. Every individual aid can be combined to the supporting frames
shown here and be used in positions with varying height or tilt.
Aids can be integrated with frames at any time.
Each frame has been designed to lock the various exercise aids in the ideal position for the application, as part of a program to improve the health
and quality of life of people affected by illnesses, physical or psychological disorders, or with temporary or permanent disabilities.
This manual is not a medical handbook, but simply provides the therapist with suggestions to best position the aid suited to the purpose. Each
therapist is therefore free to "adapt" the exercise to the patient's needs.
3. USAGE LIMITATIONS AND SPECIFIC WARNINGS Frames must not be used:
Without having seen to all the necessary adjustments and set-ups (as agreed with the relevant therapist).
When they have been tampered with and/or modified from their original configuration.
In an improper way or when there is a suspicion that they may cause any harm to the patient.
The plastic parts can catch fire if brought into contact with naked flames.
Do not spill liquids onto the metal parts.
Before using the equipment (both frames and aids), a specialist should assess physical fitness and psychological suitability of the users.

4. GENERAL INFORMATION
MODULARITY Modularity comes into its own with the variety of solutions proposed for executing occupational exercises that can be performed both from a
standing or seated position.
To make this possible, each individual aid can be fitted to various types of configurable supporting frames. These items can be combined at any
time and can be equipped with the aids deemed most appropriate in each case and chosen from the libraries available and already dealt with in this
manual.
Using the same space as for a wall panel, it is therefore possible to vary the therapeutic exercises to be carried out by the patient while standing. The
time required by the therapist to set up the modules on the panel is minimal and does not need any tools.
Examples of modularity
In the 2 examples above, the aid chosen is fitted to the ERGO 100
(art. AR10003) panel, which enables it to be used at various
positions and heights.
In the 2 examples above, the aid chosen is fitted to the TILT ERGO (art.
AR10007) element, which allows its incline to be adjusted.
In turn, this pair can be used on a horizontal plane (the ERGO TABLE is
shown in the image), or a vertical plane, combined with the ERGO 100 (art.
AR10003) panel.
Some exercises carried out standing upright can therefore be carried out sitting as well, using a normal table or the specific (folding) ERGO TABLE
AR10006 for a more complete configuration of the workstation.
As shown in the images, the flexibility of the "THEOREM" program arises from the need to provide the patient with the possibility of making the
exercise better suited to their limitations. Once the intended exercise aid has been identified, it can be used in the most suitable position.
FLEXIBILITY
To better understand how the system can be adapted to the patient's needs, simply look at the images below to see how each aid can be practically
used repeatedly in all (or almost all) of the positions shown, perhaps by following a gradual process with an increasing exercise difficulty.
The possibility of shifting each exercise module to a higher position builds up the exercise progression as the patient improves. Each individual
exercise aid can therefore be used horizontally, vertically and at an inclined position between 0° and 90° (see relevant chapter in each manual).
Examples of flexibility
This series of images outlines a possible "process" with the chosen aid, when paired with ERGO 100 (art. AR10003) panels that are spaced
slightly apart and fitted at various heights.
The same adjustment can also be achieved with just 1 ERGO 400 (art. AR10004) element, when the individual height adjustment is minimal (2.5
cm) and is combined with the possibility of changing the incline as well.

LIBRARIES The supporting frames have been designed to allow the various aids to be fitted (separately) in various positions. They are identified by different
characteristics:
Fixed height, with 4 pre-determined positions on the vertical plane (art. AR10003).
Adjustable height, with variable positions at 2.5 cm steps, from 54 to about 200 cm (art. AR10004); this model also allows an adjustment
from vertical to horizontal plane and vice versa, in addition to all intermediate angles.
Together with other frames, with tilt adjustment by about 90° (art. AR10007).
The symbols located next to each model in the following tables make it easier to identify any possible application plane for the exercise aids.
For a correct, consistent interpretation, the same symbols are also found in the aid manual, so as to point out their possible application positions.
These symbols indicate which planes are suited for most of the selected aids; aids should obviously be suitable for
that particular application (see relevant section).
These symbols indicate the possibility of combining the frame, and the chosen aid, with the Posture Monitoring
system (see relevant section).

AR10003 ERGO PANEL 100
Can be configured with aids of your choice, to be purchased separately.
When choosing an aid, we recommend checking that it is suitable for the required exercise plane.
This is an advanced configurable panel to be hung to a wall. The panel can contain up to four
exercise modules, that can be chosen freely from the available libraries.
Modules can then be easily repositioned so the same exercise can be performed at different heights.
Changing each module's height does not require any tools: the module is slid into the special guides
and locked with a lever device.
This program was developed in response to the need to provide the patient with the possibility of
making the exercise better suited to their limitations.
Once the intended exercise aid has been identified, it can be fitted at the most suitable height.
The possibility of pulling out the kit and placing it at a higher position builds up the exercise
progression according to the improvement made by the patient.

NOTE: if this panel is combined with art. AR10007 TILT ERGO (optional to be purchased separately), it is also possible
to change the exercise plane by going from a fixed vertical plane (standard) via a freely variable 90° angle, to reach the fixed
horizontal plane.
Obviously the panel AR10003 remains fixed; the aid is inclined thanks to art. AR10007 which is fitted on the vertical plane, as can be seen from the
following images (provided by way of an example only).

horizontal plane).

AR10003 – STARTING UP
Step 1: Place the panel against the wall (at the desired height: the diagram on the right
is a suggestion only) and mark the 4 center fastening points (hidden by the position
lock) as a reference for drilling.
NOTE: If more modules are to be placed side by side at different heights, please remember to
leave a gap of at least 45-60 cm between panels, so as to allow inserting and removing aids between
the various modules, as shown in the image on the left.
Step 2: Drill the wall according to the hardware used.
Step 3: Secure the panel to the wall.

NOTE: these operations are very quick and do not require any tools.
To insert the various aids, please proceed as described below:
1) Lift the middle end-of-travel stop (the upper one as to the position
where you want to fit the aid).
2) Insert the aid (the image shows a basic panel: this procedure is the
same for all types of aids).
3) To insert the aids easily, ensure the end-of-travel stop of the position
below the chosen one is always completely closed (lowered).
4) Keeping the middle end-of-travel stop lifted, push the aid up to the
center.
5) Lock the aid lowering the middle end-of-travel stop.
6) To remove the aid, follow these steps backwards, lifting the end-of-
travel stop and sliding out the aid, taking care to support it when it comes off
the guides.
CAUTION: support the aid when it comes off the guides to prevent it
from slipping from your hands.

AR10004 ERGO 400

This is an advanced panel to be fitted to the wall, designed for use with one single aid at a time.
The module is inserted by sliding it into its guides and is locked by means of a lever device.
As a result, the aid can be easily adjusted in height without any tools and without having to
remove and re-position it.
As with panel ERGO 100, this allows users to vary and make progress with the same exercise at
different heights.
The height adjustment system (with 2.5 cm steps) is sophisticated, but simple and quick at the
same time, allowing the user to bring the aid from 54 cm to about 200 cm.
The aid attachment device also allows performing the same exercise in a variable tilt condition
from the vertical plane (0°), via all intermediate positions and until reaching the fully horizontal
plane (90°).
The exercise module (aid) can be chosen freely among the available libraries.

AR10004 – STARTING UP
To best contain overall dimensions and packaging/shipping costs, the equipment is supplied already assembled (a functional check is also carried out at
the factory before shipping) and fitting it to the wall requires a partial disassembly in 2 separated steps:
Step 1: Remove the sliding/adjustment element (by pulling
the special height adjustment knob) and slide out the aid
support lock
CAUTION: lifting the knob and sliding out must be
carried out SIMULTANEOUSLY.
CAUTION must be exercised to support it when it comes off the metal guides; it is advisable to slide it
out in an upward direction (see images at the side), but it can also be removed from the opposite side.

Step 2: Separate the 2 metal parts (the front one for height
adjustment and the back one that is going to be secured to the wall)
by unscrewing the 8 screws (4 on each side) that keep them
together.
You can then proceed to securing the equipment to the wall by following the procedure below:
Step 3: Identify the wall you want to fit the equipment to, leaving at least 40 cm on both
sides of the frame so exercise aids can be inserted and removed.
CAUTION: these 40 cm on both sides are necessary to ensure aids
can be inserted and removed, and they need to be kept free along the whole frame height.
Step 4: Place the back metal sheet against the wall (resting on the floor, in a
vertical position) and mark the 8 holes as a reference for drilling.
Step 5: Drill the wall according to the hardware used.
Step 6: Secure the metal sheet to the wall.
Step 7: Re-assemble the front metal sheet into its original position using the same screws that were removed to separate the 2
metal sheets.

Step 8: Carefully re-insert the adjustment block from the upper side in the same direction/original position, aligning without
forcing too much and keeping the release knob out, to prevent the pin from scratching the paintwork.
Step 9: Check sliding is smooth and that it is possible to fit the adjustment block along the whole area marked by the 1 mm scaled rod. If sliding
appears to be difficult, please also read the following section relating to non-routine maintenance.

AR10004 – NON-ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
If, at the end of start-up operations or after a prolonged usage time, sliding appears to become difficult when the
"Adjustment unit" slides vertically (see image on the right) or the same unit does not seem be secure, even though it is
properly locked to the front holes with the "Lock/release Knob", it will be necessary to adjust the sliding skids as
follows:
There 4 skids for the Unit to slide vertically.
2 at the front and 1 at each side, all of them are "hidden" behind the metal
sheet to which the Lock/release knob is attached.
The 2 front skids are highlighted in gray in the image on the left, to
better show their position.
These 4 skids guide the travel by making the Adjustment unit slide along the
metal sheet, and they are adjusted at the factory. However, transportation, start-up phase and everyday use
may alter their original position, making sliding less accurate and requiring a new "calibration" with a re-
alignment to the fixed supporting frame.

To correctly align the skids with the profile-guide (the metal part fixed to the
wall), you need to operate on their position according to the steps below:
1) Loosen (anti-clockwise rotation), without fully removing, all of
the 3 screws that lock each skid.
2) Bring the skid in contact with the fixed metal by "pulling"
screws and skid.
3) Secure (clockwise rotation) all of the screws.

To insert the various aids, please proceed as described below:

from slipping from your hands.
AR10004 – HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
NOTE: these operations are very quick and do not require any tools.
To change the height, proceed as described below:
1) Pull and keep the central knob out (holding the support to avoid that,
once released, it is free to slide down to the floor).
2) Move the support into the desired position and, releasing the knob only,
move the support slowly until the inner pin clicks into place in one of the
locking holes.
CAUTION: DO NOT leave the support if you are not sure that it is
locked and that the knob is back in one of the holes, preventing an accidental
descent.
The system is spring loaded and tends to lock automatically at the first useful
hole, but this could damage the paintwork over time.

The aid resting angle is adjusted as described below:
To release the support rotation you need to operate on the locking handles
found at its sides and following these steps:
1) Loosen (anti-clockwise rotation) both handles.
2) Rotate the support to the desired angle (please remember that
adjustments can go from vertical plane (0° as in the picture above at the side)
to horizontal plane (max 90° from the previous one, as also shown in the
example below)
3) Secure (clockwise rotation) both handles.
Adjustment can be made independently before or after having inserted the
chosen aid. However, it is advisable to do so beforehand, as the aid weight
might render this operation more difficult.

Each exercise aid can also be used in a seated position by fitting this
special foldaway table (to be secured to the wall).
This table matches any other vertical frame available in terms of material
and aesthetic features.
This means that it can be combined with one of the following items by
positioning it straight underneath: AR10001, AR 10002, AR10003, in
addition to the suggestion provided below.
The frame is made from coated metal, while the table top is made from
antibacterial polyethylene, which is resistant to water and UV rays and
easy to sterilize.
The table top is also contoured to provide better ergonomics when used by
wheelchair-bound users.
The table can be folded away when not in use.

80 x 61.5 x 73.5 h cm (when in use) - 80 x 12.5 x 77 h cm (when folded)

NOTE: this model, or any other horizontal table top, can be fitted with art. AR10007 TILT ERGO (optional to be purchased

This makes it possible to change the exercise plane with the chosen aid from a standard horizontal position, via a freely variable angle up to about
85°, to reach an almost vertical position (please always make sure that the chosen aid is suitable for the exercise plane angle, by checking the symbol

AR10006 – STARTING UP
To secure the table to the wall, please proceed as follows (2 people are needed):
1) lift the table top,
2) remove the 4 black caps found on the back crossbars,
3) place the table in the desired position,
4) mark the holes position with a pencil,
5) gently rest the table in a secure position,
6) drill the wall according to the hardware used,
7) put the table back in position and fit the screws with insert,
8) tighten the screws,
9) fit the caps back on (by simply pressing on them)

AR10006 – OPENING/CLOSING THE TABLE TOP
NOTE: these operations are very quick and do not require any tools.
To use the table, please proceed as described below:
To open the table top:
simply grab and lift the table top as high as it can go (about
93°), then let it drop until it automatically reaches a horizontal
position (90°).
CAUTION: DO NOT leave the table unless you are sure
that it is adequately secured on both sides.
To check this, simply release it and push it slightly: it should
remain stable without lowering.
If this is not the case, repeat the steps.
To close the table top:
grab the strut highlighted in yellow in the image beside here with two hands
(one on each side),
1) then, keeping the strut "lifted" from
both sides, first lift the table top slightly
(about 2 cm),
2) always pulling the strut, lower the
table top by about 4-5 cm (if the strut
has been held correctly, before
performing this step you must first
release the table top), then,
3) while freeing the strut but still
holding the table top, the latter must rest
gently on the vertical frame attached to
the wall.
CAUTION: the table top must be guided in its descent until it reaches a
vertical position resting against the back frame.

AR10007 TILT ERGO
Can be configured with aids of your choice, to be purchased separately.
When choosing an aid, we recommend checking that it is suitable for the required exercise plane.
This module enables the fitted aid to tilt from 0° to 90°, and can also be
adjusted at any intermediate position.
It also allows widening the range of execution of the same exercise in
terms of effort and difficulty.
It can also be used by seated or standing patients both horizontally (resting
on the AR10006 table top or a normal table) and vertically.
The frame is made from powder coated metal, while the base is made from
antibacterial polyethylene, which is resistant to water and UV rays and
easy to sterilize.

AR10007 – INSERTING AND REMOVING EXERCISE AIDS
NOTE: these operations are very quick and do not require any tools.
To insert the various aids, please proceed as described below:
1) Insert the aid between the guides (the image shows a basic panel: this
procedure is the same for all types of aids).
2) Lift the middle end-of-travel stop and, while keeping it lifted, push the
aid to the middle.
3) Lock the aid lowering the middle end-of-travel stop.
4) To remove the aid, follow these steps backwards, lifting the end-of-
travel stop and sliding out the aid, taking care to support it when it
comes off the guides.
CAUTION: support the aid when it comes off the support to prevent
it from slipping from your hands.
This item also works as an aid, as it can be inserted into panels AR10003 to change the vertical exercise plane.

AR10007 – INCLINED PLANE ADJUSTMENT
The aid resting angle is adjusted as described below:
To release the support rotation you need to operate on the locking handles
found at its sides and following these steps:
1) Loosen (anti-clockwise rotation) both handles.
2) Rotate the support to the desired angle (please remember
that adjustments can go from horizontal plane (0° as in the picture above at
the side) to vertical plane (max 90° from the previous one, as also shown in
the examples below)
3) Secure (clockwise rotation) both handles.
Adjustment can be made independently before or after having inserted the
chosen aid. However, it is advisable to do so beforehand, as the aid weight
might render this operation more difficult.

6. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING CARE
Routine maintenance tasks are to be carried out at least once every 6 months.

7. WARRANTY GENERAL AFTER-SALES CARE CONDITIONS FOR CHINESPORT ITEMS
The warranty has a 24-month validity from the date of delivery. The warranty does not cover consumable materials, rechargeable batteries and all expendable materials in general, any faults caused by bumps, falls, improper or
incorrect use, accidental events, and damages caused by transportation. If the equipment turns out to have been tampered with, the warranty is automatically void. Equipment repairs shall be made as per the reported fault.
Cost estimates must be expressly requested.
Payments are intended cash on delivery, unless otherwise agreed upon. For any dispute, the sole competent court shall be the court of UDINE.
WARRANTY REPAIRS
Warranty repairs must be expressly requested. Warranty repairs are intended to be carried out at our facilities and further to authorization.
For products sent in their original packaging, the return delivery is free of carriage.
Warranty repairs require a fiscal document in which the date of purchase falls within the warranty period (sale receipt, purchase invoice, till receipt). If, upon inspection, the product appears to be fully functioning, troubleshooting expenses shall still be charged to the client.
OUT OF WARRANTY REPAIRS
For out of warranty repairs carried out at our facilities further to authorization, transportation expenses are charged to the client. Only with regard to the parts replaced during the service, warranty on the repair is 12 months from receiving the machine.
If, upon inspection, the product appears to be fully functioning, troubleshooting expenses shall still be charged to the client.
HOME REPAIRS If repairs are carried out at the client's home, a written request must be made specifying full applicant details, type of machine and fault.
The cost per km for the engineer's travel is to be agreed upon depending on the client's urgency.
If the machine concerned is under warranty, only travel costs shall be charged. Time is calculated from when the engineer leaves our facilities to his return; the return time shall be estimated based on the time taken on the way out.
SALE OF SPARE PARTS AND CONSUMABLES
Orders must be made in writing specifying client, item, shipping methods, as well as the client's correct fiscal data. Order processing times may vary depending on material availability.
We do not accept returns on spare parts.
Payment shall be cash on delivery, unless otherwise agreed upon.

8. POSTURE MONITORING
The exercise helps patients to gradually improve their movements, from the complexity required for shoulder, arm, forearm, and elbow movements,
to fine movements at distal wrist, hand and fingers level. To enable a stable arm position, which activates fine hand control, proximal trunk control is
essential. Attention must not be focused solely on interaction with the aid, but must also consider the way a patient uses the various areas of their
body.
Simple gestures like opening / closing a door or window, and taking a glass of water, if included in therapeutic contexts with position monitoring
instruments, are very useful for correct functional relearning.
Position feedback instruments (inclinometer - goniometer) make it possible to draw the patient's attention to the motor behavior in areas of their body
of which the patient is not always fully aware, providing information on performance and focusing attention on important aspects of the movement.
Also, adding Feedback has a motivating effect and produces an immediate increase in performance.
The examples below suggest a combination of aids, support panels from the Theorem project, and Posture Monitoring components. They show how
to use simple elements to check the movement made by the patient for the required exercise, and may be used to organize a course of rehabilitation
to correct the movement.
Obviously, the possible combinations vary according to the aid, exercise, patient posture, etc., allowing the therapist to develop personalized work
programs to suit the patient's needs.
Application examples
In this example the CUP (art. AR10018) aid is used, attached
to an ERGO 100 (art. AR10003) panel, with the patient
wearing an INCLINOMETER (art 02036).
In this example the HORIZONTAL SPIRAL (art. AR10018)
aid is used, attached to an ERGO 400 (art. AR10004)
support, with the patient wearing a POSITIONAL
FEEDBACK set (art. 02038).
In this example the HANDLES (art. AR10017) aid is used,
attached to an ERGO 100 (art. AR10003) panel, with the
patient wearing a GONIOMETER (art. 02037).
