The U.S. Forest Service is proposing four special use autho1ization projects on the Iron River and Bessemer Ranger Districts of the Ottawa National Forest, for which we are seeking public comment. The proposed activities would involve issuing special use authorizations to private landowners, for the use and maintenance of existing roads on Nationa l Forest System lands. A brief description of the projects and their locations fo llow.
• KOSINSKI - Access on FR 3409 for approximately 0.83miles, in T45N, R36W, Sec. 8, W 1/2, Iron County, MI.
• VAN LAA EN - Access on FR 32 12 for approximately I. I 0 miles, in T43N, R37W, Sec. 10, Wl /2, Iron County, Ml.
• GIANNOLA - Access on FR 3476 for approximately 0.65 mi les, in T44N, R36W, Sec. 23, Iron County, Ml.
• PALMQUIST - Access on an existing, non-system road for approximately 80 feet, in T46N, R42W, Sec. 2 1, NESE, Gogebic County, MI.
Decision Memos will be completed to authorize, and mitigate for, any potential effects of the proposed activities. If yo u have comments about these proposed activities, please submit them no later than December 10, 2014. Comments should be specific to the proposed project locations. These comments will be reviewed by the Deciding Official and used to detennine whether or not there are any unresolved conflicts with the proposed actions.
