Inspiring professional teachersOur teachers are selected for personality, dedication, enthusiasm and experience. They lead interactive, conversation-based classes that teach real-world language based on current events and everyday topics.

Technology-enhanced classtime An EF exclusive! We’ve fully integrated teacher-led tablet lessons into most courses. Our groundbreaking tablet apps accelerate the learning process by increasing interactivity in the classroom.

Interactive classrooms Our teachers are trained to use technology for your advantage, so in addition to tablets, all of our learning environments are fully equipped with classroom media, projectors, a computer lab, and WiFi.

Special Interest classes Make your language studies your own by taking Special Interest classes (SPINs) in the subjects you prefer. Every school offers dozens of SPINs, in a wide range of business, career, academic and arts-related topics.

Why is EF Intensive our most popular course?Because not only do you maximize the amount that your language skills improve, you also gain valuable time to prac-tice with fellow students. This extra interaction enables you to communicate in a natural way, faster than on other courses, and in the process form lasting friendships.

How many weeks should students enroll for an EF Intensive Course? The longer you study, the more you will improve, guaranteed. That’s why students seeking advanced language skills enroll for a minimum of 3 to 6 weeks. Keep in mind that Intensive students make progress 25 to 50% faster. A 6-week course allows most students to advance one full level of ability, and many intensive students choose to achieve greater flu-ency with courses of 3 months or more.

Live like a local.

AT HOME IN THE WORLDChoosing the right accommodation for you is an important

part of your experience. That’s why we offer four distinct options for you to inte-grate with the local culture. From Homestays to Campuses, all accommodations reflect EF’s exacting standards for quality and comfort.

EF Homestay Experience maximum cultural exchange by living in a private home with native speakers. You will gain insight into your host culture, pick up local slang with greater ease, and have a more authentic accent. You’ll have breakfast and dinner with the family, as well as all meals on the weekend. EF host families live in typical residential neigh-borhoods throughout the city, conveniently located to public transporation.

EF International Home-share Benefit from all the features of a homestay while gaining more independence. Homeshares are like mini-student residences, with 5-10 students living in a large home together with a local family.

EF Campus Immerse into student life and live onsite, only a few minutes walk from your EF school. You’ll enjoy facilities such as a cafete-ria, student lounge, sports complexes, Wi-Fi internet and more. Live-in residential staff are always on-call. We offer EF Campuses in: Oxford, Cambridge, New York, Bos-ton, Miami Beach, Atlanta, San Diego, and Seattle.

EF Residence Live in the heart of the city alongside EF students and benefit from an international exchange of cultures. You will have easy ac-cess to your EF course center by public transport, and you’ll be well-placed to take advan-tage of your host city’s culture, restaurants, and sports. Resi-dences vary by destination, but often offer WiFi, mealplans, and more.

Gain more independence by living in an EF-selected apartment with easy access to your course center via public transportation. You’ll have the choice of your own room, or one shared with a fellow student. Either way, you’ll get to know fellow EF classmates by sharing daily life with them – shopping for food, making your own meals and keeping the place tidy. All EF Apartments feature a com-munal bathroom, kitchen and living room. Many EF buildings boast on-site amenities like laundry rooms and pools.

Enjoy the comfort, conve-nience and privacy of a full-service hotel. Every EF school offers conveniently located 2-star, 3-star and, in many cases, 4-star hotel options. Whichever you choose, you can expect a range of hotel amenities, including on-site restaurants, fitness facilities, laundry service—even swim-ming pools. Breakfast is often included, and you will arrange for other meals on your own.

Class Schedules and Duration of LessonsEF language lessons have a duration of 40 minutes, (except where stated otherwise on individual destination pages).

Travel and Medical InsuranceAll students are required to have medical and accident insurance. We have negotiated tailor-made cover-age for EF students with the insur-ance provider Erika Insurance Ltd. We strongly recommend this policy as it protects the student against expenses incurred through accident or illness, and provides coverage for loss or theft of baggage and personal effects. It also provides coverage against interruption of the student’s EF course due to illness and includes Liability and Legal coverage. The cost of this insurance is $81 for the first two weeks, then $31 for each additional week. If the student does not wish to take this policy, they will need to provide EF with a copy in English of the alterna-tive insurance policy they have taken out individually.
