6 nights NASA Space Camp Advanced Space Academy Program

Enjoy a challenging , space life experience with scuba based microgravity orientation, advanced missions and engineering training.

Advanced Space Academy is an adventure that enables high school students to forge futures, make friends and explore careers.

Trainees are immersed in science, technology, engineering and math education with a focus on university and career progression.

Extended duration missions also provide greater teamwork opportunities for trainees to prepare for becoming the next generation of space leaders and explorers.

Advanced Space Academy trainees select from the following track options (both include scuba activity:

Mission Specialist TrackSpace Suit Theory and Design

Space Physiology Scuba Space Walk Training

Pilot Track (incl. scuba)Aeronautic Design

Jet Aircraft Simulations Orbital Mechanics

Trainees will experience two Lunar missions and a Mars mission. The buoyancy of water provides the environment for microgravity exercises in the Underwater Astronaut Trainer, while the Multi-Axis Trainer and 1/6th gravity chair further

challenge balance and movement.

3 nights The Exploratorium TWiT TV Stanford University Intel Museum Workshop Computer History Museum NIF/Tesla*

The Exploratorium is a twenty-first-century learning laboratory, an eye-opening, always-changing, playful place to explore and tinker.

For more than forty years, they’ve built creative, thought-provoking exhibits, tools, programs, and experiences that ignite curiosity, encourage exploration, and lead to profound learning. Dive in and discover what we’re all about.

The San Francisco city tour visits the famous sights of one of the most eclectic cities in the USA. See the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park, Sausalito and much more

2.4km off the coast of San Francisco Alcatraz operated as a federal prisoner from 1933 – 1963 and housed some of the USA’s most notorious prisoners including Al Capone, Mickey Cohen and Machine Gun Kelly. Visit the Rock and hear the history as you walk the most secure federal prison that existed.

The TWiT.tv Netcast Network with Leo Laporte features the #1 ranked technology podcast This Week in Tech, along with over 20 other top-ranked online shows.Since 2005, the live shows have provided news, commentary, help, how-to and perspective on the latest trends in digital tech from seasoned experts and journalists.

The Computer History Museum is the world's largest history museum for the preservation and presentation of artefacts and stories of the Information Age located in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Intel Museum staff engage students as they explore the complex world of silicon technology to help them understand how Intel is changing the way we live, work, and play. Learn about Intel® microprocessor history, silicon chip design, and chip fabrication.

Based in the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory the National Ignition Facility is the world’s largest and most energetic laser facility ever built.

NIF supports fundamental advances in support of the national security, fundamental science, and energy security missions.

Additionally, experiments at NIF are laying the groundwork to revolutionize energy production with fusion energy to provide abundant and sustainable clean energy through the development of inertial fusion energy (IFE).

3 Nights iFly Experience Incl. Physics Program Griffith Observatory (evening) California Science Center Incl. Space Shuttle

Endeavour Universal Studios Incl. Special Effects Tech

Tour

What if your students could safely experience the thrill of skydiving in a vertical wind tunnel? Would they become excited by all the science, technology, engineering, and math involved? We think so, too!

An iFLY wind tunnel is a marvel of math, science and engineering that connects classroom learning to the real world. On a field trip to iFLY, your students will conduct experiments, receive flight and safety training, fly in the wind tunnel, and learn all about the STEM concepts involved in their flight.

The California Science Center provides an innovative model for science learning. The center spans more than 400,000 sq. feet and includes four major exhibit areas.

World of Life – Living CellsCreative World - EngineeringEcosystems – BiosciencesAir & Space Pavillion – Past, Present and Future

Caltech is a world-renowned science and engineering Institute that marshalssome of the world's brightest minds and most innovative tools to address fundamental scientific questions and pressing societal challenges.

Managed for NASA by the Caltech, JPL is the leading U.S. center for robotic exploration of the solar system. In addition to its missions, JPL developed and manages NASA's Deep Space Network, a worldwide system of antennas that communicates with interplanetary spacecraft.

Special Effects Workshop

Students will experience some of the technical secrets of Hollywood, such as green screen effects, stop motion photography and digital imagery. Working industry professionals take you through the technology behind some of your favourite movies.
