In Greek Mythology, Romans Gods and

Goddesses control the universe. It’s their

nature to freely realized their dreams

which led to a series of tragedies. Born in

the sea, Venus life is loveliness. The origin

of Venus Award design is based on the

Olympic Gods’ self realization and based

on the epic heros’ adventurous story.

Director of Design, Yan-

Liang Jiang, was originally

established to go with then

popular laser-engraving

technique to create simple

and neat laser-engraved

award products.

Through his personal passion

and perspective of design,

Jiang focuses in award

molding design, along with

his expertise in visual innova-

tion and crafting technique, to exceed

clients' expectations, leading clients to an

exclusive award event.

All this time, Venus Design, with principle

and persistence of design in mind, not

only has been improving molding

technique, but also combining with

various creative elements and design

team, including flat, industrial, sculpture,

and molding designers. Every piece of

work from Venus Design shows the result

of the design team’s enthusiasm and

diligence.

In year 2000, Venus Design created Venus

Award branding and elected “the wings

about Award Design

Many designers think award design is not

a realistic job, many others said award

design is just a commercial work. To me,

I’m glad to be in the business of award

design. To me, award design is a process,

with limited resources but

endless possibilities, to create

invaluable

craftsmanship.That’s how I

redefined award design.

In this field, the most inter-

esting part is the person who

gave me the job is not the

one who will receive the

product. While the award

receiver can not participate in

the award design process,

with no choice, I have to speak for the

receiver. Being the referee and the player

at the same time, is the most the interest-

ing part of this task.Of course, I will not

be the award winner. However, being able

to work together with the design team,

and to communicate with clients, in order

to achieve a common goal, is a process of

development and growing.

When an award event completed success-fully, I will tell my client: “It’s an honor for Venus to share this wonderful moment!”


Yan-Liang Jiang

Beauty Consultant Award, 2005

Client : Taiwan Shiseido

" Beauty" - can only be sensed but not

explained in words. However, beautiful look

can be portrayed through various make-up

techniques. The design of the award is based

on Shiseido's "seven-leaf tea flower" logo

and Shiseido's trademark "S" character as

the concept of the design. Using soft curve

line and painting technique blend, we warm

up the cold-feeling of metal and crystal

elements. The award combines the special

event and Shiseido's corporate culture.

Mission Award, 2003

Client : Japan Vodafone (J-Phone)

In order to change enterprise culture and

strengthen common goals, Vodafone,

world largest telecommunication group

merged with Japan J-Phone, was planning

a series of praise activities.

In this award, we integrated Speech Mark

in Vodafone trademark into a transparent

ball, which made of two half balls. Center

slot functions as picture frame or memo

clipper to put photo or note. The orb is

designed separated from the base, making

it easy to adjust the angle of the ball.

When this award is placed on office desk,

the unique and un-traditional design,

makes it as well as a good decoration

piece.

Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Award, 2005

Client : Far Eastern Group

To remember Mr. Y. Z. Hsu, the founder of

Far Eastern Group, for his contribution to

the developments of Taiwan engineering

and technology, Far Eastern Group formed

Y. Z. Hsu Honoring Foundation. The mission

is to popularize technology, communica-

tion, and digital expertise, as well as to

hold a contest for outstanding technologi-

cal essay.

The design of the award is based on Far

Eastern Group earlier on logo " house" .

The shape is mixture of earlier-on logo and

current Far Eastern Group modern steel-

structure building. Using a special way, we

crafted an award with a blend of alumi-

num and crystal to demonstrate a fusion of

modern and the old days.

Fellowship Competition, 2001

Client : Acer Inc.

“Fast like a wind, calm like a tree, violent

like a fire, flat like a mountain”. These are

the principles mentioned in The Art of War

by SunZi, a famous Chinese war strategist,

and are still being used as the main

philosophies in many enterprises. By

gathering the outstanding talents of every

field, unite and cooperate, divide the work

and go forward side by side, then an

enterprise can realize the dream and wish

for success.

The rectangular with puzzle-like design

emphasizes the idea of team unity. The

lovely and humanoid shape with four

reinforcing bar figure, divide and advance

in four directions, representing each

professional divides the work and goes

forward side by side. The creation not only

has the concept of all-directions, it also

implies never-ending flow. Those who can

get brilliant people, can get the world .

Golden Harvest Award, 2006

Client : Minister of Government

Information Office,Taiwan

Golden Harvest Movie Award was estab-

lished in 1978, also named “ Experimental

Movie Golden Harvest Award,” intended to

encourage non-commercial motion

pictures. This honor goes to new genera-

tion filmmaker with new ideas and dreams.

“Harvest” symbolizes prosperous, it is art

worker's reward activity held for encourag-

ing outstanding filmmakers and video

editors.

The design expresses the idea of winding

video tape on harvest, with irregular

L-shaped metal and toper crystal interlock

and form a unique radiation view. It is a

symbol of relentless force to create and

renovate.

The best achievement in directing Li An of

Oscar Award, was once awarded as the

most creative director by the Golden

Harvest Movie Award.

Victory Goddess Series, 2001

Client : PCA Life, Taiwan

Prudential’s logo is a statue of goddess

with red ribbon on her head. To encourage

exceptional sales staffs and convey the

company’s values, Prudential entrusted

Venus Design to create a series of goddess

trophies. There are a total of three types:

the excellent goddess - representing the

first-half of annual sales contest, the global

goddess - representing the second-half of

annual sales contest, and the heroes

goddess who represents the total of annual

sales.

Independence League Trophy, 2004

Client : Geltec Co., Ltd., Japan

Japan National University Soccer League

Award is designed based on supporting

company Geltec’s logo. The trophy

combines aluminium , copper , electro-

plated surface, blue and transparent acrylic

various materials to create the unusual and

transparent look. We also used industrial

molding techniques such as NC, laser blade,

high-temperature winding to enhance the

cambered and cut surface of the work. It is

a hi-tech soccer game award worth to keep

for life.

“Sunrise Trophy”,2000

Client : President Chain Store Corp.

Life is like a stage, we depart. Life is as the

variations in the morning and evening

tides.The music rises, the waves appear in

large number. At that moment one must

grasp the opportunity. Life’s circumstances

and rhythms are in your grasp.

This award was presented to 7-Eleven

senior staffs by 7-Eleven Taiwan. This

trophy reflected the spirit of enterprises

globalization and hope to senior staff. This

work is named “Sunrise”, representing

7-Eleven’s expectation to their long-time

workers who contribute years of their lives,

to rise like a sunrise and to have a new

start every day.
