By not storing sensitive card details on their server, the merchant can potentially reduce the set of stringent PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requirements they need to adhere to.
Reduction of PCI DSS requirements could mean a saving in both time and money for our merchants i.e. avoiding audits and extensive paperwork.
