The history of the border patrol

The Border Patrol was started in 1904 while Teddy Roosevelt was president.When it first started there was only 75 men on horses were hired to guard all of Americas borders and they had to provide their own horses. Today there is 9,500 agents stationed along out 2,000 mile southern border.99% of all people entering our country illegally are from Mexico.

The officers have to deal with many dangers including things that the Mexicans throw at them.These include rocks, pipes, chains, anything that they can grab .

There is three barriers because drug smugglers would crash up to ten cars to make a path through the barrier and make a path. So to stop it they installed the triple barrier system.
