MAINTAINING STERLING SILVER KEEPSAKES

If sterling silver jewelry is worn daily, the natural oils in the body keep it lustrous for long periods. Over time, or if not worn regularly, a piece can dull or tarnish. Cleaning restores its original shine.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS1. If your piece is heavily tarnished, first remove the tarnish with a liquid tarnish remover following manufacturer’s instructions. It only takes a second or two. Never submerge jewelry with stones (synthetic or genuine) in tarnish remover.2. Use a good silver cream polish to restore the shine and place a protective coating on your piece. These are available in most hardware and grocery stores.

Thumbies are crafted from the actual finger-, foot- or handprint of people we hold dear.

From a two-dimensional ink or scanned print. Meadow Hill’s artisans create a three-dimensional wax mold that is then cast in precious metal using the ancient art of lost wax casting. Polished and engraved, perhaps embellished with a stone or chain, these one-of-a-kind keepsakes keep us coming back to the stories that connect us to the people we love.

IT STARTS WITH THE PRINT

The better the quality of the print sent to Meadow Hill, the greater the detail in the finished keepsake. Our artisans select the portion of the two-dimensional print that has the

most unique characteristics. This area is then cast; the finished product replicates the ridges and life lines in that part of the original print. The images shown on each page have been sized to show the features. Please refer to page 19 for an exact size comparison.

HELPING HANDS

Meadow Hill works with a network of funeral homes who assist families with the collection of final fingerprints, presenting the Thumbies product, and placing keepsake orders. Ask your funeral home to contact us should they need assistance.

The Parts of your Thumbie

PRECIOUS METALSThumbies are available in .925 sterling silver and 14k white or yellow gold. Charms are slightly domed on the print side and flat with a burnished finish for engraving on the back.

Metal abbreviations are used in the captions throughout this brochure.

Some styles are also available in Noble Bronze™, a proprietary metal formula that comes complete with a hypo-allergenic coating. Noble Bronze pieces are flat with a satin finish.

SIZES, SHAPES AND ENGRAVINGThumbies come in a wide range of sizes and shapes. Product size variations dictate the amount of engraving. Please refer to the specific dimensions and engraving specs for each product. Both BLOCK and Script styles are available.

FACE DESIGNSThumbies are crafted from the actual finger-, foot- or handprint of people we hold dear. The four face designs are available; full fingerprint (print extends edge-to-edge), rimmed print (polished rim frames print), handprint, and footprint. Any of these designs can be applied to Thumbie charms.

BAILSThumbie charms come with different bail configurations which determine how the charm is worn or carried.
