    decades when country was in the world situation. However, according to the recent statistic, it

    indicates that an average of life expectation of Cambodian citizen is around 31.1.

    c. Demographic and household data

    Phnom Penh is located in the south-central region of Cambodia, at the confluence of the

    Tonl Sap, Mekong, and Bassac rivers. Therefore, it provides the potential freshwater and river

    ecosystems as essential resources for sustainable environment conditions, natural atmosphere and

    a successful culture for Phnom Penh citizen from past to present.

    Phnom Penh lies in front of Mekong River with the length of 4,200km which originally

    come from the highlands of Tibet China. This river crosses Cambodia from North to South with a

    total length of 486km and passes Phnom Penh as an intersection of the river.

    II. Geography/Topography

    a. Type of terrain

    Phnom Penh is a kind of a flat area which the surrounding areas consist of a typical flood

    plain area for Cambodia. Although Phnom Penh is situated at 11.89 metres (39 ft) above the river,

    monsoon season flooding is a problem and the river sometimes overflows its banks.which covers

    an area of 678.46 square kilometres (262 sq mi), with some 11,401 hectares (28,172 acres) in the

    municipality and 26,106 hectares (64,509 acres) of roads.

    b. Surrounding environment

    The transportation center of Cambodia, Phnom Penh is the focus of four highways radiating

    out to the provinces. It is the terminus of the country's only two railroadsone extending to the

    Thai border and another to the deep water port of Kompong Som on the Gulf of Thailand. There

    is an international airport in nearby Pochentong.

    Silk Island (Koh Dach)

    For those with an interest in Cambodian silks and silk weaving, set aside a half-day for a

    boat trip to a rural weaving village on Koh Dach (aka Silk Weaving Island,) a nearby island about

    an hours boat trip up the Mekong River.

    Tonle Bati/Ta Prohm

    Tonle Bati is a small lake and popular picnic spot for the locals - bamboo picnic stands and

    mats by the water. On the road to Tonle Bati there are two Angkorian era temples, Ta Prohm and

    Yeay Peau.

    Ta Khmau Zoo / Phnom Tamao / Prasat Tamao

    The Phnom Tamao area is a popular destination for weekend holidayers from Phnom Penh,

    offering picnicking, a zoo and some minor Angkorian-era ruins. Located off of Route #2 at the

    39km mile marker. Turn right. 1000 riel entrance fee.

    Oudong

    About an hour west of Phnom Penh, just off Route #5, lay the hills of the abandoned royal

    city of Oudong.

    Phnom Chisor

    At the top of Phnom Chisor sit some very nicely preserved 10th/11th century AD Angkorian

    era ruins. Buses depart for Takeo every hour from the Phnom Penh Sorya Transport bus station.

    Get off at at the turnoff marked by a big Phnom Chisor sign (52km road marker) and take a

    motodup to the base of the hill.

    Phnom Da/Angkor Borei

    Angkor Borei is a town in Takeo province in the area of several ruins and archaeological

    digs. About 20km from Angkor Borei is the hill of Phnom Da, crowned by an impressive 11th

    century Angkorian-era prasat (tower) with some carvings in good condition.

    Prasat Neang Khmau

    Standing next to an active pagoda, Prasat Neang Khmau consists of two deteriorating brick

    prasats (towers) built in the Angkorian-era in the 10th century A.D. under King Jayavarman IV.

    At the 51km road marker. The temples are on a small hill right next to the road.

    There is an international airport which is located on the west of Phnom Penh with a

    distance of 12km from the center of Phnom Penh. Since Phnom Penh is the capital of

    Cambodia, there are several of many kind of sectors are being took place in such as

    industry, garment factory, residential, and agriculture.

    Some green space in the capital city Phnom Penh like the Wat Phnom Park has to be

    preserved in order to protect the long life trees surrounding that area. Not only the public

    park, but also garden has to be conserved especially the garden near the riverside.

    Battambang is located to in the northwest. It borders to the Banteay Meanchey to the north,

    The Tonle Sap Lake to the East, Pursat to the South and Pailin and Thailand to the West. The area

    of the province is 11622 square kilometers. The topography is variable from the Tonle Sap

    floodplains in the East through a broad belt of lowland paddy fields in the centre to lowland/ upland

    mosaic and upland forested areas to the West. Battambang is classified as a rural

    province.Battambang has the population of 1,126,345 persons ranked fourth in the country

    according to the survey in 2011.

    B. GDP, Growth rate, and Trend of urbanization

    A subsequent third urban development plan for Battambang involved the north, east and

    south of the city. This vast undertaking, which required long-term planning to integrate all of the

    previous work, resulted in a modern provincial capital that was by far the most developed region

    of Cambodia outside of Phnom Penh.

    Residents. The population was centered along a single road parallel to the Sangkae River (Stung

    Sangkae).

    2. Geography and Topography

    A. Type of terrain

    Battambang is flat city. The city is situated by the Sangkea River, a tranquil, small body of

    water that winds its way through Battambang province providing its nice picturesque setting. As

    with much of Cambodia, the French Colonial architecture is an attractive bonus of the city. It is

    home to some of the best preserved French colonial architecture in the country.

    The Cardamom Mountains, with rainforests, wildlife refuges, and environmentally

    protected areas, spread into the southwest corner of Battambang province from neighboring Pursat

    province.

    B. Surrounding Environment

    There are many surrounding Environment:

    Kamping Puoy Lake: Located between two mountains, named Phnom Kul or

    Phnom Ta Nget and Phnom Kamping Puoy, at Ta Nget village, Ta Kriem

    Commune is 35-kilometer (22 mi) from the provincial town. Kamping Puoy Lake

    is 1,900-meter (6,230 ft) wide, 19-kilometer (12 mi) long and can load 110,000,000

    cubic metres (3.8846109 cu ft). It is famous for its giant lotus flowers whose fiber

    is spun and weaved to make a new organic fabric.

    Phnom Sampov: Is a natural resort located along the National Road No 57 (the

    former National Road No10) at Sam Puoy commune (the high land more than 100-

    meter (330 ft) high) and 12-kilometer (7 mi) from the provincial town of

    Battambang.

    Phnom Banan: approximately 400-meter (1,310 ft) High Mountain at Koh Tey 2

    commune, Banan District 15-kilometer (9 mi) from the provincial town by the

    provincial Road No 155 parallel to Sangker River.

    Battambang Airport is an airport serving Battambang, a city in Battambang Province,

    Cambodia. The airport is 3 kilometers from the city center in Battambang. It has a total land area

    of 128.68 hectares. The airport commenced operations in 1968 but not operation now. The airport

    resides at an elevation of 60 feet (18 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designed 07/25

    with an asphalt surface measuring 1,600 by 40 meters (5,249 ft 131 ft).
