Spread your wings and adventure, don't worry if you fall, causeUQMSA will always be there (not starting a poem here, just trying tosay that UQMSA is a good starting point to get to know people andeven lifelong friends)! So do join us and embark an exciting journey inSunshine State! Far from home, but close to heart.

The only thing that does not change is change itself

Hi, my name is Shiet Siabut most people just call me Sia. I’ll be your social convenor (alongside Michelle) for 2015. I am a second year chemical engineering student. I’m just a normal girl from Kelantan (NOT Kuantan). Like all Malaysians, I love good food. I am sure we can all be really close friends. *wink*

A smile is the shortest distance between two people. So if you see me, don’t be afraid/shy to smile. Laughter is the shortest distance between two people

--Victor Borge

Sup guys! I’m Michelle, third year in Bachelor of Science majoring in Food Science and Nutrition and I’m your social convener this year =). I do love sports even though my locomotion is not the best nor gifted. I’ve doing mostly ultimate frisbee in Brisbane and I’m always up to do any other sports! [as long as it gets me moving =P]

Short, quite talkative, easygoing, adventurous and friendly are probably my characteristics, based on my judgement, but feel free to approach me if you think otherwise! XD I’m looking forward to meet new people and mingle around with you guys! Don’t be shy to come and approach me cause by approaching people, that’s how you make friends and expand your connections. This is what I have learnt when I got here. If you have done nothing you would get nothing but anything can lead to something. Enough with the philosophical talk, see you guys soon ! =D

A few things I enjoy doing in my spare time include playing the guitar, singing, cooking and baking (although I usually don't eat what I bake heh). I also enjoy trying out Break-fast / Brunch places around Brisbane So if you ever need a breakkie partner CALL ME hahah. SPONSORSHIP CONVENORS

Lee Fang Yi Oon Chu Hean

I am Fang Yi, currently in my 2nd year pharmacy at UQ. I am from Penang and I love to eat especially laksa. :) I am very grateful that I get to know many good friends here. Joining UQMSA is the one of the greatest thing that I have done in Brisbane.

My life in Australia will be truly memorable and unforgettable by par-ticipating in this club. I hope that everyone will have the same feeling too!! All the best to all of you. Fighting!

Hey peeps! As the sponsorship convener, one of my tasks is to ensure that our members will have the chance to get all sorts of discounts (perk of being a unistudent!) wherever you go, cause our sponsors are pretty much located throughout Brisbane. Just a friendly reminder, remember to cultivate a habit of showing your membership card when paying for meals. Sometimes I only realize the shops do offer discounts after payment, aaarrrggg...

Now jumping to other topic, personally I enjoy playing soccer (yep aussiecall it soccer haha), reading and watching movies during free time. I have to say UQ is quite an awesome uni where you get to meet lots of new faces from all over the world, as we have quite a high number of international students (actually just like other Australian unis). The thought of arriving in Brisbane for the first time was still like a thing of yesterday, and now look at me, I am already in my second year. How time flies! Remember to make full use of your time here, don’t be afraid to meet out with other people, while joining some activities to enrich your life! When you come to think about it, this is what uni life is all about. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you are pursuing. We will make sure to do our best to bring you the benefits and activities you will never experience elsewhere.

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that

you have a thousand reasons to smile.
