Mission Statement:

The Upward Bound Programs at California State University, Fresno are federally funded TRIO programs serving 153 low-income, first-generation college bound high school students who have the potential to succeed in college, but whose high school grades and test scores may not reflect that potential. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase high school graduation rates and enrollment in

and graduation from post-secondary institutions.

Program History:

The TRIO Upward Bound Programs at Fresno State have been serving Central Valley students since 1981. Since then, both programs have received

continuous funding by the U.S. Department of Education.
