Full-Time High School Program

Our full-year high school program is specifically designed for senior-level international students who wish tocomplete their high school program in Canada with the goal of enrolling in post-secondary studies at

university.

Our four-semester program allows students to take eight courses between September and June, while focusing on only two courses at a time. This approach allows students to complete academic courses in a focused and intensive environment while receiving ongoing ESL instruction and support. Small class sizes allow for increased student-teacher interaction and individualized instruction.

University-preparation courses are scheduled to complement the process of language learning. Subjects in which students have acquired core competencies and which have less intensive language expectations are scheduledduring Semesters 1 and 2. Subjects which require a higher level of language proficiency are scheduled in Semesters 3 and 4.

Consistent communication between the ESL and core subject teachers allows for cross curricular planning andindividualized instruction. For example, ESL lessons can incorporate and reinforce the vocabulary needed for success in the core subject.

The cultural learning component of the program provides opportunities for students to extend their learning through experiential education programs, field trips, community service opportunities, and special events.
