With this project take the time to slow down, focus on the folds of the paper, focus on the step you are doing and allow each step to build upon the one before. Your kit includes twelve 6”x6” pieces of origami paper, 1 glue stick and a bag of herbal tea for you to enjoy while you are folding. Instructions: Here are instructions to create individual petals which can be glued together to create a kusudama flower. There is a good chance that each petal will come out slightly different but no need to worry because they can still come together to create a beautiful flower. www.uppersaddleriverlibrary.org Form a triangle Place the paper in front of you with the back side facing up. Fold it diagonally to make a triangle. The colored side of the paper should now be facing you. Make a square Fold the right corner up to the middle. Repeat with the left corner. Create your flower petalsApply glue to the outer edge of the bot-tom right flap. Bring the two bottom sides together so the flaps meet. Press togeth-er. You may need to hold it in place for a minute while the glue sets. Repeat the process to make more petals.

Complete your kusudama flowerGlue the petals together to form your kusudama origami flower. For best results, let each connection dry before continuing.

Flowers can be made with 5 petals, 6 petals, and even 10 petals. Embellish-ments can be added to the center like a button or rhinestone. If you make a wire loop and thread your button, you can use the excess wire to attach your flow-er to a bow or a ribbon.

If you’re having trouble, use paper clips on the middle of the petals to hold the flower together until all the glue is dry.
