Thursday, 28 July 2016 Notice of Development Application Cultural Funding Program Applications for the 2016/17 Upper Lachlan Cultural Funding Program will open on Monday, 1 August 2016. The aim of the Program is to support new initiatives in the Upper Lachlan local government area through small grants which: • Assist locally determined community cultural activities; • Increase opportunities for Upper Lachlan based groups to access a diverse range of arts and/or cultural programs; • Enable communities to explore and express their cultural identities; • Bring social and economic benefits to the community through, training, employment and promotional opportunities; and • Lead to greater awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity. A limited number of small grants up to $500 are available primarily for wages/fees, travel, accommodation and materials. Projects must take place between Saturday, 1 October 2016 and Friday, 30 June 2017. Applications open Monday, 1 August 2016. All applications must be postmarked on or before Monday, 29 August 2016. Late applications will not be accepted. Position Vacant Overseer Construction Upper Lachlan Shire Council is seeking a suitably qualified person to join our Works team in the position of Overseer Construction. This position will be required to assist in the effective management of Council’s staff, assets and infrastructure, including preparation of plans, reports and relevant correspondence. Salary offered is at Grade 12 Step minimum $1209.14 per week, in accordance with Council’s salary system and the Local Government State Award 2014.
