    Proposed Road Closing:Junction Point Rd, Crooked Corner

    Under Section 35 of the Roads Act 1993, notice is giventhat the Minister for Natural Resources, Lands and Waterwill consider the closing of the road listed in Schedule 1.Council (acting on behalf of the Minister) will receive submissions regarding the proposal. All submissionsreceived will be referred to the Minister’s delegate.Schedule 1: The road under consideration comprisesCouncil public road known as part of Grabben GullenRoad, Gunning (Lot 11 on Plan 837406). Upon closure ofthe road Council intends give land in compensation forroad opening. All interested persons are invited to make submissionsconcerning the proposal to the General Manager, UpperLachlan Shire Council, PO Box 42, Gunning NSW 2581,by Monday, 25 September 2017.Regarding the provisions of the Government Information(Public Access) Act, information contained in such submissions may, at the discretion of Upper Lachlan ShireCouncil and NSW Trade & Investment (Crown Lands), bereferred to the person(s) who initiated the proposal forappropriate consideration.For further information, please contact Council’s DesignEngineer Craig Smart on 4830 1000.

    Local Heritage Places GrantsAfter another successful round of funding in2016/2017, Council is again offering funding in2017/2018 under the Local Heritage Places GrantsProgram.The Fund will encourage works to heritage placeswith funding provided on a $1 (Council) to $1 (applicant) contributory basis.With the support of the NSW Heritage Grants,Office of Environment and Heritage, Upper LachlanShire Council will provide one grant of $3,000, threegrants of $2,000 and two grants of $1,000. Applications for funding are now open and closeMonday, 18 September 2017. All successful heritage projects must be completed by 27 April2018.Application forms and guidelines are available fromall Council offices or can be downloaded fromCouncil’s website: www.upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au.Proposals should initially be discussed withCouncil’s Heritage Advisor to ensure they meet theguidelines and are appropriate for heritage conservation or restoration.Council’s Heritage Advisor, Dr Jennifer LambertTracey, can be contacted on 0419 011 860 or [email protected]
