It’s simple. We believe that salvation is not
earned by good works. It is a gift from God. We
receive that gift by receiving the love of Christ
into our hearts and trusting in Him instead of
ourselves. Christ died on a cross, suffering in our
place for our sins. It was a rescue mission, and
He did this to rescue you. He did this because He
loves you, just as you are. We encourage you to
open your heart and receive this gift from Christ
right now. If you have questions or want to talk
further, contact any member of our ministry staff,
and they will be happy to visit with you and
answer your questions.
You can join a Bible study class at anytime
without being a member of our church.
Everyone is welcome! Membership in University
Baptist requires that you state that you have
received Christ as your Lord and Savior and have
been baptized. If you are a member of a church
already, we will take care of notifying them of
your desire to join UBC. You can do all of this by
coming forward and telling the pastor during the
response time at the end of a service or by
indicating your desire to join the church on the
perforated guest registration card. Come join us!
God is bigger, better, closer and more loving
than we can imagine.
The Bible is God's guidebook for knowing
Him and for living.
Through Jesus, God shows us Himself and His
intention for humanity.
In Jesus, God gives life to all who trust in His
sacrifice on the cross and His victory in the
resurrection. Without Jesus, we are lost and
without hope.
Through His Holy Spirit, God lives in and
through us, transforming us daily into a new self.
The Church makes followers of Jesus by
sharing the story of His love.
The Church helps followers of Jesus grow
deeper in their faith and relationship with Him.
Grace is the only way to have a relationship
with God.
Faith is the only way to enter and grow in our
relationship with God.
Nothing in creation "just happened." God
made it all.
God allows evil to exist to provide us with a
choice. God brings good even out of evil events.
God promises victory over evil to those who
choose Him.
The Church is to serve people as Jesus served
people.
Heaven and Hell are real places. Death is a
beginning, not an ending.
Jesus is coming again.

Hebrews Eyes on me.
September 13—November 8
How was your first week in Hebrews with your eyes focused on Jesus? Hopefully you
now have a new verse of scripture locked away in your mind, and you have enjoyed
focusing on the supremacy of Jesus Christ through your daily readings in the
“Hebrews: Eyes on Me” Study Guide. Next week we will learn the expectation and God-given power that transforms us to “Mature and Bear Fruit.” God’s vision for the believer is so much more
life and joy than complacency can ever provide. Check out our online resources at www.ubcfortworth.org!
It’s not too late to join one of the groups:
Sundays at 9:00am and 3:30pmMondays at 7:00pmWednesdays at 6:00pm

Far from home? Separated from your family by an ocean or a mountain range? In need of an alternative person
to call other than mom or dad when you need to vent about your “awesome” roommate? University Baptist

If you are interested in connecting with a local family who will care for you, mentor you, and help you when you
have a need, contact Ben Simpson: [email protected] or via text at 817.264.2808.
We will be your home away from home. Mark your calendars for September 27th, when we will host a fellowship

Saturday, October 17 4:00-7:00pm Mainstay Farm Family Picnic
Every week our worship guide includes a
section titled What We Believe. These are
statements of fact to those of us who as
Christians know our Heavenly Father,
Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Beyond
these absolutes, there are core values that
define University Baptist Church. These
are the values which are UBC’s highest
priorities and dictate our behavior as a
body of believers.
On two Sundays, September 20 and
September 27, a list of core values will be
distributed in all middle school through
adult Bible Study classes and at the
worship service. You may also print copies
from the attachment to the September 21
e-newsletter. All of the items listed on the
Core Values form are important, but which
are the ones that you most value in the
church life of UBC? Those that rise to the
top of the count will be the ones that
guide us in determining our specific
mission and in explaining our church to
future ministerial candidates.
Prayerfully consider the listed core values
then place a check by your top five. You
will note there is space at the end of the
list to add any core value you feel has not
been listed but should be considered as
one of UBC’s top five. Your thoughts on
these values are extremely important.
The Core Values form will be collected on
September 27. There will be a time to
submit them at the worship service, or
they may be placed in the designated box
located in the main office, or they may be
mailed to UBC (in care of ‘UBC Transition
Team’) by September 25, 2015.
Thank you for setting aside time to pray
for our church as we move forward in the
Intentional Interim process.
Sincerely,
Risa Payne, Chair
Transition Team

different families) and 14 teachers. We have 20 two year olds in two classes, so every Tuesday and Thursday
UBC is a very busy place! Our theme this year is “Friends Around the World,” and we will be learning songs
from the different continents. Thank you for your support of this very important ministry.
