Feedback from last time and update on social and

digital mediaJoe McCrea

Interim Head of Communications

Last time we…• Discussed some of our

ideas about using social and digital media better to engage and listen

• Asked you for your ideas about groups with whom to engage

So we…• Checked your groups

against our existing lists of contacts

• Began adding in those who weren’t already on our radar

• And we found…. • So THANK YOU!

Meanwhile…• We’ve begun the first baby steps

to ramp up our social media capability

But it’s only a start…• We’re only at the beginning and

we’re spending the summer listening and researching how we can be the best we possibly can, especially:

• how we engage Seldom Heard groups;

• how we engage with people for whom English is not their first language

• how we support people with visual impairments

And something special!• We are building a completely new integrated web, digital, social and

mobile capability, so anyone and everyone will be able to: • register online or offline to be part of a totally revamped public

membership scheme • log their interests with us and opt to receive targeted updates,

notifications and breaking news about the topics and issues of most interest and relevance to them

• participate in online discussions, blogs and events • access and download background documents and other materials • subscribe to relevant podcasts, video and audio• engage with us through an enhanced range of social media

channels including Twitter, Facebook,YouTube, Vimeo, Blipfoto, Pinterest, Slideshare, Flickr and Google Hangouts.

We’ve got a great team supporting us…

But you’ve proved so useful, we want to pick your brains again…
