Impacts to the economy:

• By 2020 it is expected to help to reduce cost

of fuel consumption by RM 4.8bil/yr and RM

6.1bil/yr by 2030.

• Due to less congestion and delay on FH man-

hour savings is expected to achieve

RM520mil/yr in 2020 and RM862mil/yr in

2030.

• Less fuel consumption leads to lower emission

to a sustainable level results in savings of

rm160mil/yr in 2020 and rm200mil in 2030 in

terms of pollution cost.

Kuala Lumpur – Klang BRT : Busway Design Concept - At-grade Segregated Busway

Segregated busway configuration is designed to cater for

the following scenario:

• High speed mix traffic sections

• Congested mix traffic sections

To achieve “Gold Standards” segregated busway is the

preferred type of busway configuration since the BRT

operation is separated from other traffic by means of

physical barriers and signalization. This results in

congestion free space on the busway dedicated only to

BRT Buses which leads to higher speed and reliability of

the BRT service. This type of configuration is ideal where

the road congestion would be a major obstacle for BRT

service operation and ROW is not constrained.
