Update For Winter 2013/2014 - Clover...
Transcript of Update For Winter 2013/2014 - Clover...
…a video-led and small group discussion-driven experience for youth & adults. Childcare provided for 6th-grd. & under. “There are gods at war within each of us... for the throne of our hearts, ... much is at stake. This is why idolatry is the most discussed problem in the entire Bible. Behind every sin struggle that you and I have is a false god that is winning the war in our lives.” Join us in January!
This week-long youth conference is coming up on June 9-13, 2014! It is offered by the Leadership Develop-ment Team of the Missouri Baptist Convention and hosted by Hannibal LaGrange University in Hannibal. It is a time for teenagers to spend a focused time of seeking God’s call on their life through worship, teaching and fun activities. It will be a monumental week that will challenge each student to follow God’s call beyond just one week of “camp”, but into the rest of their lives. Registration packs will be available in January.
The Team: Here are the
other leaders who give their hearts and time to see the next generation know, worship and serve Jesus Christ!
Meredith Jacyna | Meredith is my (Adas’) right hand (…sometimes both!) in ministry! She is involved with Wednesday youth meetings, trips, events, and leads the Awana children’s program.
Travis & Bethany Dixon | Travis & Bethany are recently married and spend their free time playing in pig-slop…kind-of! They lead the 7th-12th grade boys Sunday school and are involved with Wednesday youth meetings, trips and events.
Adam & Julie Gatson | Adam & Julie have been
married a bit longer and have been faithful to serve and lead youth through the years. They lead the 10th-12th grade girls Sunday school class and are involved with youth events and Awana.
Leanna Leake | Leanna, in her “free” time, takes sick people and makes them well! She leads the 7th-9th grade girls Sunday school class and is involved with youth events and Awana.

Feb 14-15 Lock-In
This will be the first Lock-In at FBC in several years, but it’s fittin’ to be a great time as some “pros” and youth will help put this thing together. We will start around 10 PM Friday and end by 7 AM Saturday morning. It will be a night of fun games and activities, food and soda (caffeine/sugar-free…and natural/organic...jk!!). The night will be seasoned with short breaks to consider topics of spiritual impact. If you need a nap, there will be time for that! The lock-in is open to 7th-12th graders. Look for more details in the coming month. Please let Adas’ know if you want to be involved with planning and/or serving at this event.
@ St. Louis | Jan. 19, 2014 Lecrae, 1000 Foot Crutch, Newsong, News-boys, Colton Dixon, Love & the Outcome, Plumb, Derek Minor, Everfound, Nick Hall
To save some a trip back to town, we will have lunch/games in the youth room after the worship service and then leave town around 1pm and near midnight. Doors open at 5pm and the show ends around 10pm.
Sign-up in Youth Room ASAP.
Dare 2 Share’s (D2S) REVERSE Tour 2014 is scheduled in St. Louis for March 21-22, 2014. D2S is a ministry dedicated to training teenagers to effectively live out and share their faith. We have used some of their resources in recent years and this year’s theme really got my attention…
REVERSE: Live Differently Dream a different dream… a vision of Christ
that propels you forward.
Live a different life… a life of excellence and evangelism.
Take a difference stand… a refusal to compro-mise and bow to the false gods of our culture.
Through dynamic training, worship, drama, and outreach opportunities attenders will come away motivated and mobilized to live differently and change the world! More details coming out in January.

give you today are to be upon your hearts.
-Deuteronomy 6:5-6
Merry Christmas!
As I look back on my life since coming to know
and live for the One True God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
He has reminded me that the most effective times of
spiritual growth have come out of me spending more
time in God’s Word and in prayer with Him – far more
so than any program or event. The “elephant in the
room” for a majority of professing Christians is the lack
of time devoted to personally engaging in the Word and
prayer. Committed devotion in these areas will grow us
the most. As God is leading me to do so personally and
with my family, I am also striving to make more time in
ministry to help others develop a habit of regularly
reading the Bible and responding to God in prayer.
A man who strays from the path of understanding comes to rest in the company of the dead. -Proverbs 21:16
The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. -James 5:16b
In 2014, let us be revived in our walk with Jesus! -Adas’
