We all leaned fom each othe because we wee oun ids. Also, when it cameto the music, me and Seb wee moe ouh. I don’t twea a hi-hat fo si hous!

And then thee was Eic pdz. We all hun out lie fiends and stated buildin a elationshi. But no-one would ive us shows – we had to be nihtclubsto ut us on! We beed them to let us la fo one hou and eveone loved it.But since no one would touch us, that’s wh we woed so had at the stat. I met Steve when I was 8 eas old – I had a fiht with his ste-bothe.Then I met him aain in Stocholm when we wee about 11. We both had tun-tables and we used to o bac to Steve’s and la hi ho, house andactice scatchin. We would mae music toethe in m fathes studio.M fathe heled us a lot. He laed us techno, he aid ent on a studioand eneall ushed us in the assion that we had develoed fo music. When we head Daft pun’s ‘Homewo’, we fell in love diectl and thediection of the music we made became moe electonic.

We had done a Chill Out album fo a estauant called Beiut Cafe. We did a launch at thee and a u we new of called Awell tuned u.Two das late he was at ou studio.



EArLy BEgINNINgSI met Sebastian in 2002 at ‘The rainbow room’ (a VIp club inStocholm which was the caziest club in Sweden at that time, I was luc enouh to have a esidenc thee thans to m fiend Tomas) I was djin and Sebastian came u to me when I laed m tac M Jinles and saidthat he loved Eic pdz music... tuned out that it was me.

buildin and we booed Awell because we eall lied the soulful house vibe he had oin on bac then. Awell had just moved u to Stocholmfom the south and we all cliced and became best fiends. In 2003 thename “Swedish House Mafia” came about. Stocholm bac then was a bit weid when it came t o econisin its own talent. I ues s i t h as to do with“the Swedish jealous” (den svensa avundsjuan). If anone tied to bea loose and just o fo it, the eole in the local music scene would dissthem. The ethos was “don’t thin ou ae bette than anbod else” sot of thin. “Who do ou thin ou ae!!” etc. Thee was a heated discussion on aoula Stocholm foum and we ot involved and ended u witin a lon an el. Seb sined it with “The Swedish House Mafia” just to et thehates even moe annoed!! The name stuc.. The 4 of us became nown as“Swedish House Mafia” locall. I thin eole used the name with a bit of sacasm bac then in Stocholm’s music scene, lie “tsss who do the thin the ae!! mafia what??”. Well... loo at us all now!

The fou of us actuall did two is toethe in Sweden. Not officiall undethe name Swedish House Mafia but that was what eole had stated to callus. Fo joes we all chied in and ot one of A fiends to mae a loo.. it

was all just fo fun bac then.In 2004 I deci ded to leave Sweden and moveto the Uk due to me not flin and the hue demand fom clubs in Euoe

fo me. It was just a much bette lace to tavel fom to the est of Euoe.M manaement and ecod labels wee also based in London and I was abit boed of Stocholm so off I went!

In 2005 - 2006 (I thin) Steve, Seb and A eall went fo it and decided touse the name “Swedish House Mafia” and mae it thei own band. peolein the scene all new about the name but it wasn’t official until this oint.

So toda 2010 I still live in London, Steve in LA, Seb in Malta and A is still in Stocholm. A lot has haened since we fist met. A LOT! We ae all still ve o od fiends, but wh en it comes to the music we haveou seaate caees.
