Advantage also serves to: Increase student engagement in experiential learning and development outside the classroom Enhance and standardise the quality of the co-curricular experience offered at UNSW Develop highly competitive graduates who have leadership ability, professional skills and a global outlook Provide opportunities for students to make a civic contribution and help shape the campus life of the university Currently over 350 individual activities offered by more than 60 different areas of the university are recognised. UNSW Advantage Nomination Process UNSW Advantage promotes excellence by: Consulting with Providers to help them develop a new co-curricular program or enhance an existing one Creating provider newsletter to profile high quality programs and share volunteer engagement tips Organising networking events for staff to share best practice The Nomination Criteria: Activity contributes to the university Student develops graduate attributes Adequate training, supervision and structure Minimum 20 hour commitment Staff member to endorse activity and administer records in CCOS Nomination sent to Director of SLL for approval Advice given on how to strengthen nomination Provider submits nomination to UNSW Advantage Provider contacted with decision and feedback Activity record and provider log in created in CCOS database by AA Providers upload student ID for each student who has completed activity in CCOS Activity details and provider contacts sent to AA Activity uploaded onto Advantage website and promoted through newsletters, social media etc. Provider resubmits nomination Nomination reconsidered Provider contacted with decision Providers requested to upload all student records before each graduation (AA) No Yes Yes No ?
