Reflection (Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly, describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field

experience?

One of this field experience involved attending the Cobb County School District Professional Learning Day on November 07th. I had the opportunity to

participate in several professional learning assigned training that day. I learned a vast amount of Smart Notebook training because the school will have the

Promethean Interactive White Boards replaced the Smart Notebook Boards the first week of December. Also, the Instructional Technology Specialist at my

school provided another Smart Notebook Professional Learning training for the teachers during school planning time. I experienced how to coach other

educators during this field experience. I gained valued information related to the Skype for Business to use in the school with staff and including how to use

Skype in the classroom with students. Moreover, Skype for Business is a tool used continuously by school leaders, and I had the opportunity to learn and

grow as a technology leader.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,

enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC

standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)

Knowledge – Educators must know the technology available at the school and be able to understand how to integrate technology into the instruction. They

also need to be able to model and facilitate the use of digital tools and resources to engage the students in authentic learning.

Skills – Educators must have the skills to provide effective instruction to students with the 21st Century technology integration skills to provide practical

instruction into the curriculum for the students. Teachers need to be able to have collaborative learning skills to provide learning strategies to maximize

teacher and student use of digital tools and resources.

Dispositions – The field experience learning made me believe that I am better prepared to increase the use of technology instruction and provide support to

other co-workers in the school.

The educator needs to be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to help create, to support, and to manage effective digital learning

environments in the school.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be

assessed?

This field experience directly impacts school improvement, faculty development and student learning at the school in many ways. All the boards in the

whole school will be upgraded from the Promethean Interactive White Board to the latest technology Interactive Smart Board flat screens, and teachers need

to know how to use the new technologies. I was able to participate in those Professional Learning training that will affect school improvement. It will

influence on teacher development on being able to perform the job functions using technology appropriately. I learned how to use the One Note, the Smart

Note software to create lessons to provide adequate instruction to the students integrating technology in the classroom. This field experience helped the

educators learn and understand the use of the technology equipment available in the classrooms. The impact can be assessed by the increase of technology

use in school that will significantly impact the number of students receiving instruction using technology-integrated lessons with an improvement in testing

scores. The impact can be assessed as well through the TKES evaluation as teachers have the requirement to use technology during class instruction.
