Unplugged Roulet Report July 6, 2012 Hopefully most of you had a nice break from work, and enjoyed yourselves as we celebrated our Nation’s birthday earlier this week on Independence Day. Some things certainly have changed over the years in regards to this holiday. Today it is hard to buy fireworks within the city limits, years ago that was the only place you could buy them. And, I’m pretty sure you can’t buy the high explosives at a fireworks stand today like you could back in the 50’s and 60’s. That aside, a lot has also remained the same with some traditions. Cooking outside, making homemade ice cream and watching firework shows at twilight are pretty much unchanged for many families. The seasonal holidays, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas have become pretty commercial in terms of celebrations. However, the 4th of July celebration doesn’t start much before the 4th, and is pretty much over on the same day. I have always enjoyed the 4th of July holiday, if for nothing else, than to be with family and enjoy a day off of work. I hope each of you had a good, safe holiday and enjoyed a day of vacation.

UnpluggedRoulet Report

July 6, 2012

Hopefully most of you had a nice break from work, and enjoyed yourselves as we celebrated our Nation’s birthday earlier this week on Independence Day.

Natalie Keef, mother of Marketing & Communications Intern Korey Keef, recently saved over $150 dollars on a new pair of glasses by using the Co-op Connections Card at a local eye doctor in Chickasha. She stated “I wasn’t sure how much, or even if it could save me any money at all [with the Connections Card], but now that I’ve tried it out and it saved that much, I’ll definitely try to use it from here on out. It was very simple to use and it’s obviously a great gift from the Co-ops to us, their customers.”

Communications Coordinator, Sondra Boykin also saved over $200 with the vision services discount at a Chickasha vision center. Discounts were given for both the eye exam, as well as a pair of glasses.

With the healthy savings discount 08406 program launch in April, many local providers in various areas including, pharmacy, vision, dental, chiropractic services, and even labs and imaging are jumping on board to provide Connection Card holders with a significant discount.

The Touchstone Energy Cooperatives of Oklahoma have saved nearly $325,000 in prescription savings alone, since January of this year. To find a full list of local providers who offer discounts with the card visit:

Snakes can be a real problem getting into substations and causing outages. 2012 has proved to be a particularly “snaky” year. In this photo, a WFEC crew completes installation of a snake deterrent fence inside the Canadian Substation. See the next edition of 10075 EnerCom to find more information about what WFEC is doing to keep snakes out of the subs.
