Problem Description & Market Need

• Problem: high cost of orbiting the payload

• Market needs:- low cost;- maintenance of satellites on an orbit;- return of satellites on the Earth; - application of reusable vehicle of spaceships.

• The potential market is estimated as 120 launches a year.

Brief technology description• Initial weight of the air-space plane (ASP)

(at the moment of launching) is 60 tons, engines thrust - 119.3 tons. So thrust/initial weight = 1.99

• A scheme of ASP start and flight:- vertical starting and building up the height

of 30 km is carried out by the use of all engines thrust with using of air oxygen and aerodynamic lifting force;

- dynamical jet separation of the orbital plane (OP) at the height 90 - 100 km and getting into the orbital trajectory;

- putting a satellite on the orbit;- taking a satellite off the orbit; - removal of OP from the orbit and landing it

with the use of parachute system and brake solid fuel engines of soft landing;

• Application in the ASP construction of the engine unit of the sub-orbital plane (SUB OP) as a separate module VKS-LV-1 makes it possible to conduct its autonomous experimental development and flying tests in accordance with the traditional rocket scheme.

Ukrainian air-space plane has the following advantages:

• modular construction of both stages• outer bodies are not in contact with inner

modules

• guidance of the flight is carried out by change of the thrust vector without using of aero - dynamical means

• application of rocket and aviation units (and, as a result, shortening the terms and reduction of the cost of development, heightening the construction reliability)

• air-space plane is unmanned one and provides quick actions

• there is no need in a spaceport for launching the air-space plane and an airdrome for landing .

Targeted Market Segment1. Consumers of the space vehicles market:

• Air-space agencies of more, than 40 countries of the world, dealing with space researches (IAF members)

• Private firms - Internet operators (Rambler, Yandex, Yahoo, Google), telephone and cellular connection operators (UMC, Life, Beeline, Ukrtelekom, Kyivstar)

• Organizations, dealing with monitoring of the environment for those concerned in the agricultural

economy, forests and water resources, ecological services (National Space Agency of Ukraine, Ministry of Nature, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of transportation and Communication of Ukraine)

• Organizations, dealing with cartography of the Earth surface - МЧС (Ukraine)

• Scientific organizations, conducting experiments in space conditions (National Academy of Sciences in Ukraine, Kharkov National Aerospace University (Ukraine), KARI (Korea)

• At present the average price of putting a satellite on a low orbit is from 10000 USD per 1 kg of a

payload (specific cost). It is being formed (incorporated) a market of putting in an Earth orbit satellites with weight at most 300 kg; for this purpose it is necessary to reduce the specific cost up to 1000 USD per 1 kg of a payload.
