The 31st temple of the 88 temples of the Shikoku Pilgrimage. The main hall of the temple was designated as a governmental important cultural asset, known as the temple of learning. All these varied and spectacular species are a must-see.

Ryoma Sakamoto was a man of noble ideals at the end of the Edo period. He was the person who instigated the drive to modernize Japan. The statue was created by Hakuun Motoyama, a sculptor from Kochi prefecture. The maximum overall height of the exhibit is 13.5m with his actual statue height of 5.3m.

On 21st April 2018, the new annexe of the museum will be opened, fully equipped with new features. It will be a place where visitors can view a curation of valuable artifacts, such as Sakamoto Ryoma’s letter. Furthermore, the existing facility has also been through an overhaul, and now features interactive exhibits that will entertain not just Ryoma fans, but a broad range of people from young children to history buffs. Visitors who present their Ryoma passports will also receive an original souvenir.

This is a massive food stall village located at the site where there used to be a mansion owned by Hirome-shigeaki FUKAO who was a Karo (chief retainer) of the Tosa Domain. There are more than 60 shops including restaurants, izakaya (Japanese style pub), and souvenir shops, offering everything that is authentic and unique to Kochi.

One of the famous sightseeing locations in Kochi prefecture. In beautiful contrast can be seen are white shores on the sea against a backdrop of pine trees. The beach is also famous for viewing the moon in all its beauty.

Harimaya-cho Kochi-shi, Japan3 minutes walk from “Harimaya Bashi” or “Kita Harimaya Bashi” on the My-Yu bus. 1 minute walk from “Harimaya Bashi” on the tram.
This bridge originated as a private access to link wealthy merchants who were situated facing each other across the river during the period of domain duties. The red, varnished arched bridge is a recommended site for taking photographs. The mechanical clock installed at the east side of the bride is also an interesting feature.
