Appendix Definition of Science-based and Arts-based cost centres

The Registrary begs leave to publish the following information on student numbers:

Notes:

(a) The headings ‘undergraduate/postgraduate’, ‘Arts/Science’, ‘Full-time/Not Full-time’ in these tables have the sense usedfor statistics by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) (unless otherwise stated). A complete list ofcourses designated ‘undergraduate’ or ‘postgraduate’ is shown in Table 9. The division of Faculties and Departments betweenArts and Science is shown in the Appendix. Students are classified as ‘Not Full-time’ if they are undertaking a Part-time course,or have completed the minimum requirements of their course and are not intermitting or under examination.

(b) Further information on the method of calculating full-time equivalent student load may be obtained from Student Recordsand Statistics, 10 Peas Hill, Cambridge (e-mail: [email protected]).
