HOT PEPPERS

HABAÑERO CHILI (75‐100 days) EXTRA HOT. Blocky, wrinkled peppers, 2” inches long and slightly less wide. Mature from silvery‐green to bright orange. Yield potential is good, but can be erratic in the cooler locations. May be used fresh or dried. Be sure to wear gloves when handling! MG Seed Stock SERRANO HOT ROD (57‐77 days) HOT. Narrow 3" fruits. Has a long harvest period and high

yield. When allowed to ripen to red, this is the chipotle pepper.

SERRANO TAMPIQUEÑO (60‐80 days) HOT. A small, narrow pepper, growing on a bushy plant 2' wide & 2’ tall. Popular in salsas, sauces, soups, stews and pickling. Seeds may be removed to reduce the heat. MG Seed Stock BEAVER DAM (80 days) MEDIUM HOT. Hungarian Pepper brought to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin

in 1912 by the Joe Hussli family. Fruits are mildly hot when seeded. Good stuffing pepper. Ark of

Taste winner.

HUNGARIAN YELLOW WAX (75‐80 days) MEDIUM HOT. This pepper has a waxy texture

that resembles bees’ wax. This pepper ripens from yellow to orange‐red. A versatile pepper,

it can be used fresh in salads, pickled, fried or roasted.

JALAFUEGO JALAPEÑO (65‐85 days) MEDIUM HOT. A large, vigorous plant with excellent

yield of extra‐large, very dark green fruits. Good resistance to cracking. This is the hottest

jalapeño pepper in the market.

PICANTE CALABRESE (75‐85 days) MEDIUM HOT. This pepper is known in Italy as the "Devil's

Kiss". It is a small, round pepper, one to two inches in diameter, and will be bright red when ripe.

This is a classic Italian hot pepper used fresh or for pickling. It can also be dried.

ANCHO POBLONO (70‐88 days) MILDLY HOT. Upright plant with 4‐5" long, heart‐shaped

fruit. Good yield in cool climates. Perfect for stuffing, but they can also be dried, ground and

used as chili powder.

NUMEX JOE E PARKER (70‐90 days) MILDLY HOT. Long narrow pepper on a medium‐tall plant. It ripens from bright green to deep red, but is mostly consumed green. Thick, crisp flesh with a delicious, mild heat. Good stuffing, roasting and grilling. MG Seed Stock PADRÓN (60‐70 days) VERY MILD. For mild peppers, harvest Padrón peppers when they are 1‐1½" long. Harvest at 2‐3” long for hotter peppers. Padrón peppers are superior in flavor when sautéed in olive oil and sprinkled with a little sea salt. MG Seed Stock

SWEET & SPICY PEPPERS

CAJUN BELLE (60‐70 days) SWEET & SPICY. This pepper is a mini‐bell and is both an

ornamental and edible. Compact growing habit 2’ wide and 2’ high makes it ideal for containers.

Prized for its flavor, the perfect combination of sweet and mildly spicy. Ripens to deep scarlet and

is disease‐resistant. Vigorous and prolific.

CORNO di TORO GIALLO (70‐80 days) SWEET & SPICY. This pepper is named "bull's horn" for

its distinctive twisted shape. It has very large, 8‐inch fruit and matures to dark red. Taste is both

sweet and tangy. Excellent in sauces and may be also used as a roasting pepper.

High Mowing / Heirloom Italian / Organic

MAXIBELLE (75‐85 days) SWEET & SPICY. Unique hybrid pepper combines the best

characteristics of bell and hot peppers. This large, wide, and blocky‐shaped bell pepper matures

from green to red. Well‐adapted to many growing and very disease‐resistant. All America winner

(AAS).

Swallowtail Garden Seed / F1 Open Pollinated

SHISHITO (60‐75 days) SWEET & SPICY. Slender fruits are 2‐4” long and 1” wide. 18” tall, bushy

plants are abundantly productive. Typically harvested and used green, but if allowed to turn

orange‐red this pepper will have a slightly sweeter flavor. Thin walls make it especially well‐

suited to roasting, frying or grilling, taking on rich flavor. Recommended for Asian cooking.

SWEET PEPPERS

CANARY BELL (72‐80 days) SWEET. This bright yellow pepper is a superior sweet pepper with exceptional flavor. It is a thick‐walled pepper. This pepper will set fruit early and will continue to produce throughout summer. It’s a great accent in salads, and is deliciously sweet when sautéed or grilled. Botanical Interests Seeds GOURMET (65 ‐85 days) SWEET. One of the best orange bell peppers. A thick walled pepper with a super sweet taste. High‐yielding, compact plant is great for containers. IKO IKO (80‐85 days) SWEET. Iko Iko produces a carnival blend of purple, yellow, tangerine and

red peppers as it ripens. Excellent flavor. High‐yielding, upright plants have good leaf cover. A

residual purple blush may be seen on ripening fruit.

JIMMY NARDELLO (80‐90 days) SWEET. A long Italian‐type pepper with thin skin which is

delicious as a frying & roasting pepper. This pepper also dries easily. Ripens to a deep red and is

KING ARTHUR (61‐65 days) SWEET. This pepper is very well adapted, growing well almost anywhere. It is a big, blocky 4½ inch bell pepper with thick, meaty walls. The flavor is sweet and crunchy whether harvested green or red. These peppers grow on a sturdy 22 inch plant. This variety begins bearing early and will produce exceptional yield. KING OF THE NORTH (70‐75 days) SWEET. An exciting bell pepper for short‐season growers.

LIPSTICK (55‐75 days) SWEET. A pimiento‐type fruit that is super‐sweet and thick‐fleshed, and

can be used fresh or for grilling and roasting. This early maturing pepper ripens well in cooler

LUNCH BOX RED (65‐70 days) SWEET. This is a true mini bell pepper with fabulous flavor! Fun, cheerful and a beautiful bright red color. It’s perfect for snacking, appetizers, garnishes, and stuffing. This pepper grows on a strong plant and yields well. Jonny’s Seed / Organic LUNCH BOX YELLOW (55-70 days) SWEET. This is a true mini‐bell pepper with fabulous flavor! POMPEII PATIO (75‐80 days) SWEET. Compact, dwarf bell pepper ripens from lime green to

orange. A blocky, thin‐walled pepper with a crunchy texture and a sweet flavor. Outstanding

choice for container gardening. Pompeii is also a top performer in the vegetable garden.

PURPLE BEAUTY (70‐75 days) SWEET. Specialty variety with an absolutely stunning dark

purple skin and bright green interiors. Sturdy compact plants are loaded with medium‐sized

peppers. Peppers ripen from purple to a deep, radiant purple‐red. A thick walled pepper with a

mild sweet flavor.

QUADRATO d’ASTI ROSSO (80‐85 days) SWEET. This pepper appears almost square. It’s a productive and very large pepper, so give it plenty of room. Ripening from green to red, this pepper can be used for stuffing or roasting. When roasting, remove the skins. Seeds from Italy

RED SKIN PATIO (65‐70 days) SWEET. Very early fruiting, plants are compact, dwarf, 12‐16” tall

and produce large 4‐5” bells that ripen from green to red. A great performer in patio containers as

well as in vegetable gardens, this pepper is heavy bearing.

SHEEPNOSE PIMENTO (70‐80 days) SWEET. This pepper has a distinctive tomato shape.

Exceedingly flavorful with sweet, juicy flesh, it keeps for an extended period when refrigerated.

Very meaty, good for canning.

STOCKY RED ROASTER (65‐85 days) SWEET. Fruit is smooth‐skinned, 4‐6” long and 2” wide at

the crown. An Italian frying pepper which is picked when red, it has an outstanding sweet flavor

and thick walls. Tall plants have an upright habit, but may need to be staked.

High Mowing Seed / F1 Open Pollinated / Organic

SWEET CHOCOLATE (75‐80 days) SWEET. A medium‐sized, semi‐bell shaped fruit that ripens

early. This pepper has a cola‐red color and is very sweet and delicious.


SWEET SUNRISE (65‐85 days) SWEET. Medium‐sized, orange bell with a flavor that is both fruity and sweet. Sturdy, medium‐sized plant has medium leaf cover and yields well. Early maturing. MG Seed Stock

TOPEPO ROSSO (55‐70 days) SWEET. Fruit measures 2‐3” wide by 2” tall and resembles a

tomato. Uniquely shaped, this squat, smooth‐skinned, rounded fruit has extra thick, meaty walls

with slight ribbing. Topepo Rosso is a pimiento‐type pepper. Upright habit and good leaf cover.

Early maturing.
