1. Have been appointed as Editor, Journal of Indian Council of Philosophical Research

(JICPR) with effect from April, 2012 for a period of three years.

2. Was nominated by the Government of India as a member of the Indian Council of

Philosophical Research – an apex autonomous body established by the Government of India

for the promotion of Philosophy, for a period of three years with effect from 19 September,

2009 to 18 September 2012.

3. Was the guest of honour at the inaugural function held on September 27, 2012 of the

National Seminar on “State and Freedom: Ambedkar‟s Perspective”. The three-day seminar

was held from September 27 to 29, 2012 at Pondicherry University, Puducherry.

4. General President of the Twentieth Session of the All Orissa Philosophical Congress held

on 20-21 January, 2008 at Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar.

5. Recipient of Swami Pranavananda Philosophy Prize for the best book in Philosophy for the

year 1987 for my book Wittgenstein’s Philosophy of Mind, Croom-Helm, London, Sydney,

academic activities of the Council both at its headquarters at Delhi and the Academic

Centre at Lucknow. My job also included liaison between the Council and the

Government of India.

5. As Honorary Director Gandhi Bhavan, University of Delhi, I planned and executed

the academic and other programmes of Gandhi Bhavan. I was responsible for its overall

administration and other activities.

2000, 2000-01, and 2002-2003. The Committee decides the theme of the essay

competition, evaluates the Essays and awards prizes each year.

September 11 to 16, 2006 at Montreal Conference Center, Montreal, Canada under the

12. From September 1, 2007 I have been serving as the nominee of the Executive Council of

the University of Delhi on the Managing Committee of the Central Institute of

13. From February 12, 2008 I was appointed as the university representative on the

Governing Body of Dayal Singh College, Delhi University, Delhi, for a term of one year.

The term has since been extended by another year.
