UNIVERSAL SIGHTPUSHER

Universal Sight Pusher User’s Manual

This user’s manual serves as a guide in changing and/or adjusting your handgun sights. The instructions in this user’s manual are supplemental and must be applied in tandem with the instructions given by manufacturer of your pistol and replacement gun sights.

PREPARING YOUR GUN:

1. Before you start, check your pistol and make sure it is not loaded.

2. Disassemble your pistol using instructions found in its corresponding User’s Manual.

3. Although it is not always necessary, it is recommended that you remove slide from pistol.

4. Check the edges of your pistol sight and see which side of the pusher block will fit more snugly, the angled side, or the straight side of the pusher block.

REAR SIGHT REMOVAL:

1. Place the Velcro tape included with the package on the support blocks that will come in contact with the slide to protect the slide surface from getting scratches.

2. Carefully insert the rear side of slide between the support blocks with the rear sight adja cent to the pusher block. It may require experimenting to get the proper position.

3. Make sure your slide will pass thru and clear the pusher and that the correct side of the pusher (angled or straight side) is facing your rear sight. It may be necessary to flip the pusher block around the other way to have the correct orientation.

4. Align the rear sight with the pusher.

5. Tighten the slide clamp handle to firmly secure the slide against the support blocks. Do not over tighten. This may cause damage to your slide.

6. Double check to make sure everything is lined up properly.

7. Place a cushioning material like a piece of hard board paper, thick cloth or leather strip between the pusher and the sight to protect the sight from getting scratches.

8. With a wrench, slowly turn the bolt head pusher handle in the direction, which will push the sight towards the solid jaw. Do not turn the bolt to push towards the thumbscrew.

9. This will move the pusher block in the direction of the rear sight. Note that 10lbs of torque on a 6” wrench is equal to 1000 lbs. of torque pushing the sight.

10. Continue turning the bolt head until the pusher completely slides out the rear sight from the dovetail of the slide.

REAR SIGHT INSTALLATION:

1. Start the sight into the dovetail from the side from which the old sight was removed. Make sure to follow the instructions on the replacement sight user’s manual on how to orient the sight relative to the slide. Some fitting may be required due to tolerance variances in dovetails.

2. Re-insert the slide back into support block just as it was when you removed the original rear sight. Make sure the pusher is properly aligned with the rear sight before pushing the new sight in place.

3. Clamp the slide firmly between the support blocks. Again, do not over tighten the clamps.

4. With a wrench, slowly turn the bolt head pusher handle to move the sight into the dovetail until it reaches your desired position. Do not force a sight into the dovetail. This may cause damage. If necessary, file the sight to fit the dovetail.

5. When the sight is in the desired position, turn the pusher in the opposite direction to detach it from the sight. Loosen the support blocks and remove slide from the sight pusher tool.

FRONT SIGHT REMOVAL:

WARNING!

In case of a stuck sight that will not move, DO NOT FORCE IT OUT! Instead, soak the slide in gun oil 12 to 48 hours to loosen it up. If it still does not move with moderately strong pressure then we recommend taking it to a gunsmith or a manufacturer’s service center.

TESTING YOUR GUN

1. Remove the slide from the tool

2. Reassemble your pistol.

3. Test fire your pistol to check for proper alignment.

4. If necessary, re-adjust the position of the rear and front sights using the universal sight pusher. Do this until you are satisfied with your gun’s accuracy.

Universal Sight Pusher Limited Warranty

Your Universal Sight Pusher is warranted against original defects in material and workmanship for a specific period from the date of purchase, when used for purposes in accordance with this User’s Manual. This warranty provides for the replacement of a defective unit within (1) one year from the date of purchase. The one (1) year warranty for unit replacement applies only for the first purchaser and to the date of first purchase.
