Who uses Spreadsheets? Why are they used?
• Spreadsheets are used by a large proportion of companies and educational purposes.
• For example, an engineer will need to perform thousands of calculations when It comes to designing architecture e.g. Cars, Buildings.
• Another example would be a Scientist. They may need to keep results from their experiments recorded, this would make it a lot easier to organise everything.
• Designed for organisation• Easy access• Simple to understand

Tools and Techniques
• IF Formula – Checks whether a condition is met, and returns one value if TRUE, and another value if FALSE (logical_test, [value_if_true], [value_if_false])
• VLOOKUP Formula – VLOOKUP is used to search the first column in a range of cells on the same row. (lookup_value, table_array, col_index_num, [range_lookup] )
• SUMIF – This is when a range of cells are given a specific criteria, and are made calculate information. (range,Criteria,sum_range)

An example of two Spreadsheets
Spreadsheet 1 Spreadsheet 2
The Purpose the both Spreadsheets?
Spreadsheet 1 Spreadsheet 2
Shows their budget and money available A huge amount of data for item in their inventory
The number of activities and their cost A empty label ready to be filled with information
The amount of resources needed for each activity
Includes instructions on how to use the spreadsheet
The total cost of the each event Terms of use
Their budget available throughout the year
Contains a lot more data overall
Both well laid out in terms of design
The purpose of the Tools and Techniques in both Spreadsheets
Spreadsheet 1 Spreadsheet 2
Using =SUM Table Formatting
Table Formatting IF Formula
=SUM
The Strengths and Weaknesses of the SpreadsheetsSpreadsheet 1
Strengths Weaknesses
Easy to read Does not contain a lot of information
Well laid out spreadsheet Tricky to understand at first
Does not show the stock of resources
Lack of Techniques
Spreadsheet 2
Strengths Weaknesses
Contains a lot of information Not user friendly
Uses a decent amount of formulas
Easy to read and well laid out
Contains an instruction guide
Sorted out into tabs
