Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: CCT Minuette Profile 650w Description: The CCT Minuette Profile is mainly used for specialist lighting cues such as a change in definition or to create a spotlight. Another feature on the Profile is the focusing handles which sometimes have two. One would be for making the beam bigger or smaller and the other one would be making it sharper or softer In a profile you can add a Gobo, which is like a filter which projects a still image e.g a window, which can be removed from the light. (Only remove once has cooled down because the light can become hot) The light has a beam throw of 17-‐36 degrees Key Components & Accessories • Shutters-‐Block off certain sides of the beam to give a straight and crisp line. You would use them for if you had a spotlight and wanted to cut of one of the edges you would just simply shut the correct shutter.
• G Clamp-‐ The G clamp is for hanging the light onto the rig, which, is held together by a washer and a bolt, which can be tightened or loosened. This is useful as it is easier to position the light.
• Iris-‐ An Iris makes the beam of light smaller or wider, without the focusing handle. This makes it much easier.
• Bulb-‐ Without the bulb the light won’t work. When placing a bulb into the light you must not touch the glass as it can shorten the life of the bulb. The bulb is a halogen bulb which is 650w bulb which is not as clear as a HPL bulb which 575w and is much clearer and brighter.

Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: DTS Scena Fresnel 1K Description: DTS Scena Fresnel is used mainly to cover the stage to give a general wash. This type of light is quite popular within the theatre industry. The light uses a 1k bulb producing a brighter light and a longer beam throw than other fresnels and so would be more ideal to use in a general wash as you wouldn’t need as many thus freeing room on the rig. With the DTS Fresnel there is a focusing handle which, is used to either narrow or widen the beam. One many of the lights we have study the focusing handle is mainly used for how clear the beam of light is. Also with the DTS, gels can be added my simply putting the gel into the gel frame. Key Components & Accessories • G Clamp-‐ The G clamp is for hanging the light onto the rig, which, is held together by a washer and a bolt, which can be tightened or loosened. This is useful as it is easier to position the light.
• Safety Chain-‐ The Safety chain is one of the most important components. One reason for this is because if the light falls of the rig the safety chain will support the weight and just hang. Depending on the weight of the light depends on the type of chain.
• Bulb-‐ Without the bulb the light won’t work. When placing a bulb into the light you must not touch the glass as it can shorten the life of the bulb.
• Gel Frame-‐ You don’t always have to use a gel, you can just use the natural light. You must use a gel frame because if you just put the gel into the light, when switched on will melt to the light.
• Barn Doors-‐ Barn doors are optional on the light. They are used for positioning the light and changing the size of the beam. When the light is switched on the barn doors get extremely hot.

Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: LED Parcan Description: An LED Parcan has 181 individual lights, which changes Colour. On the back of the Par Can there are little switches, which allow you to change different colours, which means there is no need for gels. LED Par Cans also are sensitive to movement, so when movement is detected they will simply change to a different colour. LED Par Cans are one of the easiest lights to use, as they don’t have to be focused or have anything attached to the light itself. The light can also stand on the floor instead of hanging from a rig. They are mainly used on the floor and also special effects. The bulb, reflector and lense are all one unit so the light so the beam cannot be focused.

Equipment Reference Form Type and/ Make of equipment: Pin Spot 30w Description: A pin spot is mainly used for shinning on to small objects such as a rotating disco ball or used as a Spotlight. The pin spot doesn’t really have many features such as Gel Frame or gobos. This light is one of the easiest to use as there are not many features. One problem with the Pin Spot is that the light has to be quite close to the object, as it does not generate enough power compared to the other lights. One difference with a pin spot is that the bulb inside is much bigger than the other lights. Key Components & Accessories • Bulb-‐ Without the bulb the light won’t work. When placing a bulb into the light you must not touch the glass as it can shorten the life of the bulb.

Barn doors are used to block or change the angle of the beam or make the beam narrower or wider. This light would be good in small or big areas. Bulbs not as powerful or brighter than a 1k Fresnel so wouldn’t be used if 1Ks are available to free room on the rig Key Components & Accessories
