Introduction

Social relationships are a feature of human society from earliest infancy to the end of life. Learning how to manage social relationships is a skill central to making the most of education, work, personal life and leisure activities. Therefore, if individuals learn to understand and improve their social interactions with others this can have beneficial effects in all aspects, and at all stages, of their lives.

You have been given a value added target grade which is either a pass merit or distinction. You need to aim for the standard of work required to get on or above your grade.

Scenario: SCENARIO: You have chosen a public service career. To be able to enter that public service you are required to demonstrate that you can work in an appropriate way in different social situations.

You have been asked to complete various tasks given to you by your team leader to demonstrate your skills in informal and formal situations.

Scenario: Your supervisor would like you to make a video of role play to show new recruits how to behave in formal and informal social situations.

Task Two

Working in small teams chosen by your tutor you will make a short video play to demonstrate the following:

practising maintaining active roles in exchanges e.g. a small group of learners planning an activity

Take part in a formal activity Take part in an informal activity

To show your points and make the video fun you can also demonstrate how you would behave badly in a formal and informal scenario to compare how you would behave in these situations properly. You can show the consequences of bad behaviour.
