This is my website for my digital portfolio

Audience and Purpose

My target audience for the digital portfolio is for the potential employers (Central) which are interested in hiring people to gain an opportunity to get an apprenticeship job. As part of the job application I will add a link to my digital portfolio to that I have the skills and accomplishments, this will have my IT work and programs which I created such as the Lego robot. This will help me because this will show I have IT skills and also will help me in my employability services and I will also have the inspiration to achieve the apprenticeship and be perfectly suited for the job requirements.

I made a portfolio instead of a CV because it looks different and unique compared to a CV. This explains everything about me and what I have accomplished throughout my education life. its much more faster to find the information you need for the employer to see for example theres a button on the website which takes you to where my IT information is for example one of my units I had to install a graphics and a network card and I have proof it by showing pictures of me performing the step by step guide in how I installed it.

I chose the black and green design for my website because it looks professionally good; this will show central that I am more serious and determined to get the job on like making a colourful website which will make you look unprofessional. The website is also similar to the alien ware brand, which is currently a successful and popular business that sell top quality PCs. This design was the best one I picked compared to the other designs on the website which were similar in style and had basic dull colours such as a white background with black text.

I added lots of stuff on my website like a slides show which shows all my hobbies and what I like to do in my spare time. I also added videos form YouTube on how to install a graphics and network card on the PC. I created a buttons on the website to take you to specific places like the home page or the page about me. I also create a questionnaire which has a like so if people are interested in filling it in. I also have pictures on the website to make it look more appealing so that people dont leave the site straight away. I have added my link to see my CV and I too added files to all my BTEC level 2 IT work. So that whatever they need to know about me will all be on the website.

Storyboard:

This will show eight pages of my website planning for my Unit 3 Digital Portfolio. There will be a home page, about me and a Units page which contain separate pages of each Unit.

Home page: This is the home page which will have buttons to link to every single page on the website. This page will also have a picture, black and green background colour and a link to a questionnaire which people will use to review my website. The font will be Arial with a bold text and a size of 13pt or 14pt.

A page about me: This page will be like a CV but it has a slide show of the things I like and enjoy their will be a contact page so that people can tell me if theirs problems or how good it is. This will also have a picture of an alien ware logo and a link to my CV. The font will be Arial with a bold text and a size of 13pt or 14pt.

My Units page: This page will have links to all the Units on one page this will allow you to go on the page you need for example unit 1. There a picture and a feedback button which show my email so that people can contact me. The font will be Arial with a bold text and a size of 13pt or 14pt.

Units 1 and 2: This will have my unit 1 and 2 online exam practice on this page. This will allow you to study the exams with a detailed Online Worlds document and same for the Technology Systems. The font will be Arial with a bold text and a size of 13pt or 14pt.

Unit 8: This will show my unit 8 mobile apps work. It will have a file document for the mobile apps assignment, video and a picture. The font will be Arial with a bold text and a size of 13pt or 14pt.

Unit 14: This will show my Computer Hardware work in which I completed. I have a video which examples on how to replace a processor and theirs a picture of some hardware components. The font will be Arial with a size of 13pt and 15pt.

Unit 11: This will show my Computer Network work. This will have a video about a computer network and I a picture of computer connected to the World Wide Web. This will have documents of my assignments and a button which will take you to my full assignment. The font will be Arial with a size of 13pt and 15pt.

Units 3: This will show my Digital Portfolio plans for my website this has files of my work and this will contain my assignments. It will have a video on how to create a website on weebly and possibly some pictures.

Folder structure:

This is my folder structure for all my folders for my units the main folder is the IT folder within that contains all my units work as you click on of my units such as the unit 3 on my screen shot it will show all the work and plans which I have completed.

Once I press the button it takes me straight away to my online practise exam for my unit 1 online worlds which works good without any problems.

The video work good it can play both of them at the same time so I dont have any problems.

The slide-show work and play showed all the stuff I enjoy and like.

Justification of my design:

In my judgment I believe that I have met the purpose to secure an IT employment with Central as part of my job application. I have researched what the Central Company is going to be like so I designed a professional website which includes my CV and skills I achieved during my level 2 courses. What I have added:

The design of the website is similar to alien ware which is a professional IT website with a black background with green Arial text.

I tried my best to make this website eye-catching as possible and prove that I have a range of practical skills for example, I have used a variety links on my website such as buttons on the website which allows to go on different pages on the website, I also added some picture links form google to add on the website and I also include some video links on the website so that you watch for example how to install a graphics card or a network card.

In my portfolio I created a page which is called my units this page will have a button of every unit on my course. Once you click on one of the unit buttons for example unit 11 this will take you straight on that page.

In my portfolio I have added a slide-show about me this will include my hobbies and the things I like to do. I have added a song on the website and a contacts page so that the employers Central can contact me through with an email. It will also have my PD centre that show what I did in college and it show my strength and weakness.

This portfolio will have my work for each Unit so that Central employers will see what skill I gained and achieved through the course. My work shows that I used creative writing and improving my work so that when people read it will be much easier to understand.

When designing my digital portfolio I created a home page, about me page and a units page which can be used consistently throughout the website. Every page will have a button which takes you to the page you need to go to like my questionnaire. Its similar to the navigation design which I created on my digital portfolio.

I also aim to publish my digital portfolio so that all employers form different business sees it by simply accessing my digital portfolio website.

I chose a normal background Instead of a pictures which tend to block out the text, so I made it clear to write.
