1. God is the author

a. God inspired the human writers to write the story on paper

b. In Genesis 2:7, God breathed life into man. Inspired by God means that God breathes life.

2. God is also a character

A. God wrote the Bible, and He is also inside the story as well

B. Sometimes he’s a main character (like in Exodus,) and other times, He is working quietly in the background (Esther.)

Lesson 2: The AuthorTwo Names for God

1. God is given many different titles and names in the Bible

A. El / Elohim (General Name for God)This is the Hebrew word for god or gods. When it is used in the Bible for our God, it talks about God being the creator of the universe and showing his power

B. Yahweh/ YHWH (Specific and Personal Name)This is a very specific name that God told to the Is-raelites. This is the most personal and intimate name that God has given us.

Lesson 2: The AuthorYHWH is too holy! You can use these instead:

A. Adonai Adonai means “my Lord.”
