WINTER

Girls Formal – may add Heights pullover, tracksuit jacket or winter jacket and for Primary navy tights / for Secondary 70-denier navy stockings instead of socks.

Boys Formal – may add Heights pullover, tracksuit jacket or winter jacket and long grey trousers.

Girls and Boys Sports – may wear Heights tracksuit pants and jacket, pullover or winter jacket. Primary may wear plain navy track pants.

DRESS CODE FOR ALL STUDENTS Our uniform identifies students with the culture and philosophy of Heights College, and we expect our students, as ambassadors of the College, to wear their uniforms correctly at all times, both in and outside of the school grounds.

Uniforms • Boys’ shirts tucked in, shorts worn above the hips

• Secondary boys’ long socks pulled up, turned over once below the knee.

• Dress and skirt hems are knee-length while standing.

• Sports shorts to be mid-thigh length

• Caps can only be worn during sporting activities and they DO NOT replace the College hat when wearing the sports uniform. Caps can only be accessed by students when they are engaged in active sporting activities.

• No underwear visible, including singlets, boxers, t-shirts etc.

Personal grooming • Hairstyles are conservative in style, colour and length. Hair is clean, tidy and well-groomed.

• No extremes in style, colour and length are acceptable. (eg streaks/highlights, temporary or permanent colours, tracks, buzz cuts, tails or mullets or any trending/fashion cut). These decisions are at the discretion of staff and College leadership.

• Boys’ hair is cut above the collar, and above the ears and eyebrows.

• Girls’ hair longer than shoulder length is tied back, fringes must not cover eyes.

• Navy, white or black plain hair ties (including scrunchies), clips and ribbons, headbands no wider than 3cm.

• No jewellery, other than watch or medi-bracelet. Girls may wear a single plain small gold or silver stud or sleeper earring.

• Boys are clean-shaven at all times.

• No temporary or permanent forms of body art, no nail polish or nail enhancements.

• No make-up or fake tans are permitted, blemishes may have a fine tinted covering.

Camps and non-uniform excursions All non-uniform clothing, while students are representing the College, is modest and conservative, and takes sun safety into account, with the following guidelines: • Task-appropriate footwear – many locations require shoes that fully cover feet. Shoelaces are firmly tied.

• Clothing is modest in cut and fabric – no singlet tops, muscle tops, crop or midriff tops, and underwear is not visible. T-shirts must be sleeved with a high neckline (collared shirts are recommended for sun safety).

• Shorts cover to mid-thigh, jeans (with rips) do not reveal above knees, and are not overly tight or show underwear.

• Girls Active wear leggings/tights must be knee length or longer and worn with a shirt that covers the buttocks.

• Slogans, mottos and logos on clothing are in good taste, defamatory expressions or inappropriate symbols not permitted.

• Jewellery, body art and make up follows uniform code while on excursions and camps.

• College hat or other appropriate hat is compulsory for any daytime outdoor activity.

Black leather lace-up joggers can be worn with both Formal and Sports Uniform

Lower Primary (Prep-Yr 3) can wear Velcro tabs and ‘Mary Jane’ style shoes

Girls: Plain black formal leather school-style lace-up shoe, no buckles or suede, low heel Boys: Plain black formal leather school-style lace-up shoe, no point, low heel
