IP Endpoint Customer Adoption RatesThere’s definitely room to grow..
• Consider these recent market findings…Only 40% of lines off an IP PBX are configured with IP endpoints
50% of businesses who deploy an IP communications system opt for continued use of legacy TDM phones
• …and these market projections:Shipments of business endpoints projected at cumulative annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19% through 2012
IP endpoints for businesses (corded, cordless DECT and WLAN) estimated to be a $5B market by 2012

Cisco Unified IP Phone 3900/6900 SeriesOvercoming Customer Obstacles
• Customer: “The price of Cisco endpoints are too expensive for my budget”
Response: Re-engage with the IP Phone 3900 (if SIP) or 6900 Series (SCCP/SIP). 3900 Series is basic IP communications. Custs interested in video (now or in future) or endpoint apps, such as XML, then lead with 6900 Series
• Customer: “The IP Phone 3900/6900 Series’ are less expensive, therefore performance is of less quality”
Response: Not so. These portfolios meet Cisco’s stringent design and quality objectives for IP communications.
• Customer: “My analog or digital phones do the job. I do not need IP phones.”
Response: Cisco Unified IP Phones boost worker productivity and reduce costs, taking advantage of the rich communication services from Cisco Unified Communications media servers. Ask the customer some questions about the current capabilities of their endpoint solutions.
Examples:
Does your customer support remote workers? The 3900/6900 Series offers an affordable solution that can be quickly (and remotely) configured and managed for teleworkers. Compare that to traditional PBX Off Premise Extension (OPX) solutions.
The IP Phone 6900 Series supports extension mobility, a feature which enables workers to access their communication services, as if they were at their own desk. Can their analog phones do this?
The IP Phone 6900 Series can automatically make calls from MS applications on Windows-based PC’s. The Click-to-call Widget is a free from Cisco, increasing employee productivity. Telephony costs are reduced from erroneous dialing. Compare that to their traditional solution
Wish to collaborate with video now or in the future? The IP Phone 6900 Series supports video calling with a single click on 6911 through 6961 models using Cisco Unified Video Advantage 2.2 and the VT Camera III for your PC monitor..

Single Call Per LineExample Call Treatments with the 6900 and Selected 8900 Series
• Each line is pre assigned to handle one incoming call at a time and maximum of two calls.
• One exception is that only [CTI] applications can initiate the 2nd incoming call.
• The call waiting call is offered to the next idle line through call forward busy configuration. This is also referred to as ‘inbound rollover’.
• The user can only invoke a consult call (transfer/conference) on the same line.
• The user can swap between the consult call and the original call (held) via the swap soft key or by toggling the line key.
• User may answer an incoming call or initiate a new call while on a consult call.
• User may elect to conference/transfer the two held calls at a later time, if desired.
• Outbound calls, except the consult call, are made on an idle line only. This is also referred to as ‘outbound rollover’.
• The outbound rollover is completely controlled within the phone – Unified CM will see this as if the user is initiating a call on the specified line.

• Outbound Rollover
When transfer or conference operation invoked, the resulting consultation call is initiated on a different line (DN) than the primary call. The completed operation is referred to as Transfer/Conference across lines.
• Join Across Lines (JAL)
The conferencing together of 2 independent calls (no consultation call) that are on different lines (DNs)
• Direct Transfer Across Lines (DTAL)
