Understanding and Communicating With FamiliesReflection

This assignment is very useful to understand how much individual support and helps other

people in need and one person effort could make a difference in people life to community and

also to the next generation in our world. In CNIB organization visit I experience that impact on

me are how many people care for other people and how money people are volunteer to make

difference, also how much the organization helps to make independent who in need and their

success.

In most of presentation I learned that the agencies are making an effort to help to prevent

poverty, literacy, and law and order. For example the group present about agency WoodGreen

Community Services helps a woman who is a single parent provides 4 years of shelter,

schooling and community college education, internship, childcare, after-school program,

psychotherapy, life skills, computer financial literacy training to support. In other example

Jane/Finch Community and Family Centre is providing information to the new comers,

Youth, refugees, family with children, low-income parsons, and people who have other needs.

This agency is giving some services to early year program, contact daycare for children, health

and safety information consulting; help build a good relationship between parents and children.

Also for youth the agency provides a program peace-building/violence prevention, anti a

racism/classism/sexism, sexual health, peer mentoring, expressing self through art or poetry,

alcohol and drugs, healthy relationship, community development and employment development.

Even though those agencies have these all services they are limited services because they don’t

have enough funding from government, they got money from volunteers and charities that they

are willing to support and make difference to the communities.

I believe that those agencies are able to make differences those people are mostly doesn’t have a

choice in transition and it is everyone responsibility to support families because every individual

could have transition and needs; therefore, some time people needs help from others. As an ECE

I can also help people that who need help by using this information learned in these

presentations, also I can search more agencies that provide services to help others. Those helps

other individual contributes as volunteers and the information I provide as an ECE will help a

family to be independent, that can make our world to be a better place even though it is difficult

to reach each individual that in need. I believe when you help one person you help a family,

labour, community, country and even the world.
