MISSION

• UMEB manufactures special electric motors (explosion-proof electric motors,

motors for hoisting units drive, three phase brake motors, DC motors), as well

as generating sets. Our aim is to reach operational excellence in

manufacturing of electric motors.

• We offer our customers value through reliable products and quality solutions

meeting their needs, all in appropriate delivery terms.

MANUFACTURING

The company strives to

improve its productivity and

delivery performances. The

constant processes

optimization is the key driver of

both, increased productivity

and fast delivery.


The production flow is complex but strictly

observed in its every stage.

StampingThe electromagnetic cores are made of 0.5mm

laminated sheets, stamped on high productivity

presses. For small quantities or special orders,

other stamping solutions are also available.

As the quality and the efficiency of a motor is

direct related to the quality of laminated sheets,

UMEB acquire magnetic raw materials only from

the best suppliers in industry:

• VOEST ALPINE - Austria• SURAHAMAR - Sweden • ERDEMIR - Turkey


Machining

Shields, housings, terminal boxes, shafts are machined

on CNC lathes or centres. They provide remarcable

accuracy and the flexibility needed by the large range of

parts. Most of the housings and shields are made of cast

iron. Motors in 315, 355 and 400 frame size or

special/custom executions can have steel housings. The

cast iron parts are bought from Europe and Asia.

Winding

Winding is a core competence, the most important part of

manufacturing in direct relation to output parameters and

to the reliability of motors.

Good quality insulating materials in class F or H

(SYNFLEX Germany, ISOVOLTA Austria, DEATECH Italy,

ERBAISOLANTI Italy, AEV England), high grade

enameled wire (SYNFLEX Germany, Slaska Poland,

Helenic Cable Greece), on-flow testing and skilled

operators provide good quality and reliability to our

motors.


The quality of the winding and constant

quality management are key factors in

overall motor reliability.


Assembly

Assembly is yet another core competence of

UMEB.

Careful assembly together with quality bearings

insure the long life of the motor. UMEB use

quality SKF or NSK bearings for all Ex-proof

motors.

After final assembling and final testing, the

motors are packed in wooden crates or boxes.


Testing

All products are tested in our own testing

facilities equipped with high accuracy

instruments and computer acquisition systems

to generate Routine, Type and Customized

Tests.

The testing identify more than 95% of possible

failure modes and insure a high reliability of the

products.

the open air, under conditions of high mechanical and electrical stress.
