The biggest way Univision's plans stand apart from Ultra is their roaming allowances, granting subscribers extra funds for use when making calls from places other than home. Instead of Ultra's "Call Me Free" system, which is geared toward loved ones in other countries calling a subscriber at home, Univision's roaming funds are made for subscribers who tend to be the ones doing the traveling.

DID YOU KNOW...?On March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell used a crude prototype of what would later become the "Gallows" model of telephone to successfully transmit his voice through a circuit. His assistant, Thomas Watson, was waiting in the next room to receive the call, which ended up being nine words long: "Mr. Watson, come here – I want to see you!" (Of course, Watson came right over to tell him the transmitter worked.)

It's amazing to think about how far this technology has come in such a relatively short time. Instead of a circuit transmitting a voice from one room to the next, we've got pocket-sized phones that allow instant communication with people on the other side of the planet. At Ultra, we couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of this exciting industry – and as a member of our team, you're a part of it too. Kevin was in a transitional period of his career, and starting a business was just the right decision at the right time. We opened JZ Star Wireless in 2013 and have been going strong ever since.

Kevin came to the US in his early 20's to pursue higher education, and I immigrated to the USA with my family as a teenager. I attended Queens College, and majored in accounting. Moving to the US at our young age had completely changed our lifestyle, and really gave us a whole new outlook. We had so many more opportunities to do the things we wanted to do.

The biggest change has been the emulation of the prepaid business model by large cell phone companies like T-Mobile and AT&T. They've begun to offer no-contract options, just like the smaller companies do.

Yes – I like to collect different kinds of currency. I have some coins that date back to 1890, as well as a set of uncirculated $2 bills.

Kevin and I both enjoy basketball. Our favorite NBA team is the Lakers.

I joined the Ultra team a few months prior to our official October 2012 launch to build the incredible Ultra Indirect distribution channel we have today. It’s been an Ultra-amazing ride, from our initial unveiling to receiving the 2015 Inc. Magazine award for Fastest Growing Private Company in America - which we couldn’t have done without the support of our incredible Partners such as our Master Agents, Retailers, TSPs and more. Our recent acquisition of Univision Mobile will allow us to further expand our presence within the Indirect channel and the overall international calling market. And of course, there are always more exciting things to come!

W H A T ' S T H E B E S T T H I N G A B O U T B E I N G A N U LT R A ?

I get to wake up every day being passionate about what I do. I also get to surround myself with incredibly innovative and talented folks who live the Ultra Values and really want to make a difference. I don't see my role as being about “sales” – it’s about building relationships, developing trust by delivering on commitments and creating opportunities based on our customers' values. At Ultra, we really do strive to develop meaningful, mutually-rewarding partnerships with our customers, retailers, master agents and team members. We're working every day to create differentiated communication products that better our communities, our families, our businesses and the global communication industry as a whole. I F Y O U C O U L D G A I N A N Y S U P E R P O W E R , W H A T W O U L D I T B E ?

First thought off the top of my head would be Flying. Whether I'd be using it to quickly get to our CA or NY offices, to easily meet with many of our incredible Retailers throughout the country in a single day, or to travel anywhere in the world over a long weekend – how great would that be?! I’ve also heard of Omnilingualism

– the ability to understand any form of language. It would be amazing to travel throughout the world and never have to worry about a language barrier (and the ability to understand my dogs would be great, too)!

N A M E A M O V I E Y O U ' L L N E V E R G E T T I R E D O F W A T C H I N G .

Not many people know this, but I’m really into older movies, especially musicals like "Guys and Dolls" and "On the Town." But there are two movies that I will always stop to watch, no matter when they're on or how far into the movie I join in: "Ferris Bueller’s Day Off" and "Sixteen Candles." Besides being funny and silly, they remind me of my youth – I was about the same age as the main characters when both movies came out, and they bring back fun memories from my days growing up on the East Coast.

Yes, please! I’ve also been known to “cut a rug” with Retailers at the Retailer events – I’m sure there are many photos to prove it!

I'm sure the channel will get a nice laugh at my high-heeled batting stance! This photo was taken during a spontaneous wiffle ball session outside of the warehouse in our Costa Mesa office. To me, this photo represents the fun and teamwork we enjoy at Ultra, and the energy of "Work Hard/Play Hard" – which puts a smile on my face. I’m going to call this my “Swing into Spring – Make Life Ultra” photo. //

When a customer is a light data user, and is mostly interested in using a plan for talking and texting, Ultra's $19 plan is a great pick.
