British Water is the lead organisation for the UK water and wastewater industry, representing just under 200 of the most active companies in the sector who are able to deliver custom-made solutions to all technical, financial, legal or administrative specifications in water-related projects. The UK water industry has more than 150 years’ experience in managing water supplies and providing wastewater treatment. Skills attained have been shared and developed with countries worldwide in areas such as water and wastewater treatment; regulation; investment, risk and asset management; project delivery; legal and contractual negotiations; specialist training and research; and operational efficiency.

This visit, which is supported by UK Trade & Investment, has been organised to help UK supply chain companies identify projects and potential business partners for future water, wastewater and desalination projects in Libya. The visit will enable UK technology providers, consultants and manufacturers to learn about Libya’s plans to upgrade and refurbish treatment plants and networks and understand how they can partner with Libyan ministries and organisations. This will be British Water’s first visit to Tripoli and we are looking to build long term relationships in order to help deliver efficient and sustainable water and wastewater services.

Goodwin International is a long established engineering company based in Stoke-on-Trent, UK which has been highly successful in supplying specialised check valves into the global oil and gas industry. With the recent introduction of the non slam nozzle check valve into the UK water industry, we are keen to expand our marketing activities into the MENA region.

Our nozzle check valve has a superior performance to anything on the market, specifically in pump protection applications with the presence of high head / or rapid flow deceleration. If pump protection is critical or surge analysis is considered necessary, then our high performance, non-slam nozzle check valve should be considered for potable water pumping stations, desalination or cooling projects.

We are looking to identify potential markets for our valve in Libya and the routes to market required. Ultimately we are aiming to have our nozzle check valve fully approved and specified on future potable water projects.
