Program Update

• Bibliomist Program has been working in Ukraine since 2008

• 25 training centers are opened in Ukraine: 1 national training center in Kyiv and 24 regional training centers in the regions

Bibliomist in Ukraine

• Organization of new library services with free internet access (930 libraries)

• Training centers setup and librarians’ training at NTC and 24 RTCs (4200 librarians)

• Cooperation of libraries with local communities

(41 winners) – Community Participation Contest• Learning Libraries (8 winners)• Library Leadership program, Phase II (19 winners)• Library Innovations and E-governance Fair

Training

• Training curriculum (3 modules/courses): – IT basics;– Internet as a library service;– Innovative services and fundraising.

3 more new modules developed: intellectual property; web 2.0; advocacy

• Participants of the trainings are evaluated 3 times: at the beginning of their training, at the end of the training, and in half a year.

It is necessary to update regularly the curriculum, to use more active

forms of training.

As the trainers have different level of preparation and different skills

of teaching, it is necessary for them to learn and improve their

training techniques.
