Welcome to Week 1
Over the next three weeks we’ll be finding out about the people andprocesses involved in the UK Parliament. We’ll be exploring a range oftopics including how Parliament scrutinises the work of the Governmentand the different steps in the legislative process. This week however, we’llstart by exploring the difference between Parliament and Government,and we’ll also begin looking at the work of the House of Commons and theHouse of Lords.
Learn at your own pace
You and your fellow learners will be working through the course together atthe same pace, so that you can support each other and have productivediscussions. However, you are also welcome to move faster or slowerthrough the course steps, if that fits in better with your available time.
Please feel welcome to use the discussions and comments area to askquestions if you’re struggling, and to help other people if they’re stuck. Wewon’t be able to answer every question directly, but we will try to attempt torespond to common problems and questions as the course proceeds.
This course is an introduction course, but we know that many of you will beinterested in finding out more as you go along. We’ve included links torelevant information for those of you who wish to extend your learning.
