Please include: destination, meeting place/time, departure time and your contact info. Planning a run is as simple as getting in your Corvette and letting others follow you to your destination. Run ideas include a meal, drinks, band/show, or just a ride with no destination to take in some back roads and scenery of the great scenic state in which we live. Elections for club officers and board members is fast approaching! Please step forward and run for a position or talk to a member that you feel could and would take the nomination and do a great job for the club. Please plan to attend the November meeting as this will be the night of voting; your vote does matter. I have been president for 3 years and have enjoyed my position within the club, but it is time to elect a new president and get some fresh ideas flowing through the club again. Elections are for President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and 3 board members. Board members can only hold that position for 2 consecutive years. If running for office is not for you, consider getting involved in Karen’s volunteer committee. The group meets before the regular monthly Tuesday meetings to organize events for the club. There is always room for more volunteers and fresh ideas. Reminder: Every Sunday is Cars and Coffee at LaJava on Lineville Road in Suamico from 8:30 to 10:30am. Monthly Meeting Minutes - August 5, 2014

President Mike Cropsey called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm at Wally’s Spot with 58 members present. Mike asked that all cell phones be turned off during the meeting, and mentioned that the previous meeting’s minutes were on the backside of the agenda. Any corrections should be reported to any officer.

New or Prospective Members: Roger Schroeder, Tony and Sally Steffen, Russ Schroeder, Dave and Jennifer Watson, Keith and Linda Bauer, and Jeff and Barb Durow.

New Cars or Project Cars: Jim Steinbrecher announced that Broadway Chevrolet has a 2014 C7 black Corvette in their showroom for sale, and Mike Cropsey has his 2007 Pace Car for sale.

July Dinner Run: Mitch Hazaert reported that 5 cars were present for a scenic run to The Landing in Menominee, MI. It was a great time, wonderful menu, and the Bauer’s even had a fan club there as we arrived (their little nephews).

Cars & Coffee: Mike announced that “Cars & Coffee” is held every Sunday morning from 8:30am-10:30am at LaJava Coffee on Lineville Road in Suamico (next to Zesty’s). This weekly event is open to any and all cars, trucks and motorcycles. Coffee and breakfast items are available. Members are encouraged to attend. Free coffee cards are available from Mike Cropsey or at LaJava.

Pearly Gates Veteran’s Ride: This yearly event was held on July 12, 2013. Mike gave a brief summary of the event. He said it begins with an awesome ceremony and a great run follows. Gerard Rajek made a video of this event; you can see it on the website under the “Videos” tab.

Luxemburg Parade: Jon Simonar reported that 9 Corvettes participated. Unfortunately we all ran out of candy to hand out to the children along the parade route. This event was very well organized by Jon and we thank you!

Leicht at Nite on July 24: Mike Cropsey reported that the club was represented by 35 Corvettes and all had a good time socializing and listening to the band.

Harley Davidson Museum Run on July 26: Gary Forehand reported that 12 cars (23 people) participated beginning on back scenic roads and arrived at the museum around noon for a fantastic lunch at the museum, followed by a guided tour (Gary highly recommends this tour) which was very interesting and informative, stop in Sheboygan for ice cream, and some continued to the Bottle Room in Suamico. Karen Forehand received word from our contact person at the museum that many visitors that day were amazed to see our cars lined up in a reserved parking lot!

Summer Party: Our club’s 40th Anniversary Summer Party is scheduled for Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Bellevue VFW Hall with a “Support Your Team” Sports Theme. Wear your favorite team apparel of ANY sport. This event is free of charge to members, and $5 for non-members. Event begins at 1:00 pm, a cruise run from 2-3:00 pm, and dinner served from 4-6:00 pm, with clean-up at 8:00 pm. Wendy Cropsey reported that all the information is on our website. Just click on the “Events” tab. If you have not yet signed up, you are still welcome to attend.

Walls of Wittenberg Run on August 14: Dave and Betty Byrnes will lead this run for a ride to Wittenberg, Wisconsin. Meet at 9:30 am at the BP Station on Main and Mid Valley Drive in De Pere. Departure is at 9:45 am with an early lunch, then continue the drive to Wittenberg to enjoy a self-guided tour of Murals and Art Park.

Von Stiehl Winery Run on Sept. 6: This run is being organized by Marty and Sherry Lafond.

Fall Run on Sept. 26 - 28: This is a 2-night run to the scenic city of Munising, Michigan, on Lake Superior. Brad Augustian handed out an information sheet and passed around a booklet about the Pictured Rocks. This is a run you will not want to miss!

Sheboygan Run on August 17: Dean and Kim Becker are organizing a run at 11:00 am from Green Bay to Sheboygan, stopping at the Highland House for lunch and to a local ice cream shop. More information is posted on the website.

Treasurer’s Report: Karen Forehand reported that we currently have 220 members and all bills are paid.

Car Shows: Various members gave summaries of recent car shows they attended such as the Gandrud Car Show, the Pierce Park Show in Appleton, and the Black Hills Corvette Classic. All upcoming car shows are listed on our website. Check it out! Mike announced if anyone is planning on attending a car show, email Dan Terrien or Gerard Rajek or post it on Facebook to invite other members to join you and get more involvement as a club.

Gandrud Car Show: Five of our Corvettes received awards at this show held Saturday, August 2. Gary and Joyce Olson, Dave and Kate Riebe, John and Jackie Janke, Mike Golla, and Rick Everson. Congratulations to all winners! Dan Terrien hosted a dinner run after the show riding through Kewaunee County and stopping at Lipsky’s in Dykesville for burgers and pizzas, then continuing to Brewski’s Bar on Broadway Street in Green Bay which featured a live band.

New Business: Mitch Hazaert announced the weekly car show held at A&W Restaurant on Velp Avenue in Howard every Wednesday beginning at 6:00 pm.

Upcoming Elections: Mike announced that all positions are open (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and three board members). Mike Hannon will handle the election process and collect any nominations you may have for any position. The election will be held at our meeting on November 4, 2014.

50/50 Raffle: $50 was won by Gary Olson and $15 won by Dick Morrow.

August Dinner Run: Meet at NWTC on August 21 at 5:45 pm leaving promptly at 6:00 pm for a ride to Gino’s in Seymour. An ice cream run will be announced on the website.

President Mike Cropsey extended birthday and anniversary wishes to all members celebrating in the month of August. The meeting was adjourned at 8:51pm.

Walls of Wittenberg Cruise When: Thursday, August 14 Where: BP Station in De Pere (West Main and Mid Valley Drive)

Time: Meet at 9:30am, departing at 9:45am

Please join us for a drive thru the countryside and some windy roads to Wittenberg. We will drive for 1.5 hours, stop for an early lunch, and then continue our drive to Wittenberg to enjoy a self-guided tour of Murals and Art Park.

The Walls of Wittenberg is a walking tour of murals painted on the buildings in a small quaint town, and is very interesting to see the talents of many individuals.

Since this is a walking tour, we suggest wearing comfortable shoes. We will be going rain or shine, an umbrella just in case. We hope you can join us!
