    NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH

    FELLOWSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURESHIP

    1. The e xamination hall/room shall be opened 30 minutes befo re the time spec ified for the comm encement of the

    examin ation (i.e. 30 th December,2012, "SU ND A Y"). N o candidate who is late by more than 20 minutes, shall

    be admitted to the examination.

    2. No cand idate sha ll be allowed to leave the exa m in ati on h all/r oo m u nt il 11.30 a.m. in the 1st sessi on a nd 3.00

    p.m. in the second session of the examination. No candidate shall be permi tted to go to the toilet during the last

    20 minutes of the examination in each session .

    3. A se at m arked with a rol l number shall be allotted to each candidate. T he candid ates shall be required to findout and occupy the seats allotted to them by 9.00 a.m.

    4. N o candidate shall be allowed to leave his/her seat or the examination hall/room u ntil IU O a.m. in the 1st

    5. Before beginning to answer the paper, the cand id ate should write h is/her roll number in the space provided inthe Test Booklet and OMR Sheet. Th e candidate should re ad car efully the instructions appearing on the Te st

    Bookl et & OM R Sheet and check t ha t t he Te st Boo klet & OMR Sheet supp lied to him/her is not defective and if

    so, may secure another copy from the Invigilator in lieu of the f irst one. Th e Test Booklet sh ou ld be checked

    with reference to page numb ers, serial number of the questions, c od e n umber and the subject offered by the

    candidate.

    6. If a candidate wr ites his/her M obile n um ber o r puts any special ma rk at any place in the OMR Sheet which maydisclose , in any wa y, the identity of the candidate, he/she will render h im self/herself liable to disqualification ,

    und er unfair means rule.

    7. Each candidate is required to bring his/her own ball poi nt p en, ink pen, pencil, era ser and ink. The us e o f calculators & Lo g T ables is not permitted. Any electroni c d ev ic es including Cellular, Mobile, Satellite Phone,

    Pager etc. are not allowed in Examination Hall/Ro om under any circumstances.

    8. The time allotted for eac h paper includes tim e req ui re d to read instructions appearing on the Test Boo klet andOMR Sheet for filling entries at the appr opriate places. No extra time will be provided.

    (i) 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.

    (ii) At the comm encement of the examination.

    (iii) Fifte en m inutes before the conclusio n o f the P ap er I, II & Ill.

    (iv) At the end of the each paper.

    10. The candidate shall h av e t o return the original OMR Sheet of Pap er 1 & I I together and Paper-lII to the

    Invigila to r b ef ore leav ing the examination hall/room . However, candidates are allowed to carry the used Test

    Bo oklets of paper-I, II & III alongwith carbo n less copy o fOMR Sheet on conclusion of examination.

    12. Any candidate found guilty of using unfair means of any nature in the examinat ion hall/roo m shal l be liable to

    be disqualified for future NET/SET.

    14. Each candidate shall have to produce his/her Admit Card/lD p ro of on demand by the Invigilator/Examination

    S u peri ntenden t/O bserver.

    15. The candidates shall have to abide by the instructions that may be announced by the Superintendent/lnvigilator

    in the examin ation hall/room.

    16. For Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates thirty minutes' extra t ime shall be provided separately for paper-Iand Paper-II. For paper-III, forty five minutes' extra t im e shall be provided. They w il l also be provided the

    services o f a s cribe who would be a graduate in a subject other than that o f the candidate. Those PhysicallyH an dicapp ed (PH) can didates w ho are n o t in a position to write in their own hand-writing can also avai l these

    services by making prior request (at least one w eek before the date o f UGC-NET) in writing to the Co-ordinator

    of respective NET Coordinating University/College. Extra tim e and facility of scribe wou ld n ot b e p rovided to

    other Physically Handicapped candidates. The candidates are not allowed to br ing their own scribe.

    Session (Paper I and Paper II) - 9.30 a.m. - 12.0 0 n oon

    2nd Session (Paper II I) 1.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.

    20. Paper-I :- Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each wi ll be given, out o f which the candidate

    would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than f if ty questions,

    the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate woul d be evaluated

    22. Candidate will n ot be allowed to write any question from Test Booklet on Admission Card or any other paper

    and if found doing s o, he/she may be disqualified for using unfair means.

    23. UGC will not issue any mark sheets to qualified/not qualified candidate. Also, there is no revaluation of papers

    in this examination.

    24. Candidate should note that result published by UGC will be only provisional. Candidate will be issued

    certificate only after preliminary checking of the eligibility conditions outlined in the notification ofUGC-NET .

    25. Paper-II will consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each

    question will carry 2 marks.

    26. Paper-III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate.

    Each question will carry 2 marks. The Paper-I I I will cover entire syllabus of the subject which is available on

    the U GC website www.ugc.ac.in and www.ugcnetonline.in.

    27. The syllab i f or 30th December, 2012 UGC - NET can be downloaded from the UGC websites: www.ugc.ac.inand www .ugcnetonline.in .

    28. The candidates are advised to remain in touch with the web site of the respective NET Coordinating

    University/College in connection with their registration status, Test v enue, seating arrangement etc. For any

    further clarification candidates are advised to get in touch with the Co -o rd in ato r of NET Coordinating

    University/College. .

    30. Candidates may check their Venue of Test/seating arrangement from the website of the respective NET

    Coordinating University/College and note it in their printout of online Admission Card before the Test.

    31. No Admission Card/Duplicate Admission Card will be issued by the respective NET CoordinatingUn i versities/Co lieges.

    The candidate will fin d the OMR sheet p la ce d i nside the sealed Tes t Boo klet. The s eal will n o t b e broke n/opened by

    the candidate before the examination starts.

    Candidate must f ill up all columns pro vi de d i n the Test Booklet and OM R Sheet carefully. The Test Book let Code

    of Paper-I (i.e. W, X, Y and Z) is also to b e f illed by the candidate in the OM R Sheet . Before handing over the

    original OM R Sheet to the Invigilator, the candidate must put his signature within the spac e provided.

    DO NOT FOLD OR DAMAGE THE OMR SHEET IN ANY WAY AND DO NOT MUTILATE ANY PART

    OF THE SHEET TO ENSURE EVALUATION, OTHERWISE THE OMR SHEET WILL NOT BE

    EVALUATED.

    The OMR Sheet for Paper-I, Pap er-II (together) and Paper-III ha ve b een designed for OMR based evaluation. lfthe

    can did ate doe s n ot f ollow the instructions or does not fi ll up all columns properly, the OMR Sheet will not be

    evaluated. An y resultant loss to the candidate on the above account f or not following the instructions shall be his/her

    responsibi Iity.

    Eac h question ha s four alternative respon ses marked A, B, C and D. The candidate has to darken the circle as

    indicated below, as the c o rrect response against each question.

    For example: ABC D, where B is the COlTect response.

    All the entries must b e c onfined to the space provided . The candidate must fill in the app ropriate circle clearly

    with blue/black ink ball poi nt pen only.

    The candidate has to r espond to the questions in the OMR Sheet only. If the' .' darkening is done at any other

    place in the OM R Sheet, it will no t b e evaluated. T he candidate shoul d f ill h is/her response in the OMR Sheet after

    careful thought. On ce marked, no change in the response shall be permitted. More than one Response is also not

    allowed.
