VIRTUITALY conveys a new approach to edutainment, where cultural recreation is achieved with an immersive educational and entertaining experience.

Thanks to digital technologies and interactive systems, the scientific content and the cultural enjoyment are integrated with an attention to emotional aspects, creating formative and satisfying activities.

Uffizi Virtual Experience is the first interactive and immersive virtual exhibition created in Italy, which brings to Milan the masterpieces of the Uffizi Gallery with high resolution digitized images.

The exhibition includes two areas:

-a multi-projection immersive area designed for the visual experience of the digitized masterpieces;

-an interactive area, equipped with Uffizi Touch®devices, that will host a weekly program of events and educational activities.

- Meetings and lessons with University professors, artists, experts in the fields of art and technology

-Educational activities and laboratories for schools: guided virtual tour of the artworks, group activities featuring thematic learning paths

-Recreational and formative activities for children, kids and families

-Seminary on digital humanities: the “digital revolution” in the cultural heritage area and the types of enhancement

-Concerts with live music, where the digital images of the artworks will be the dynamic and immersive scene

From January 22nd to March 10th 2016, Uffizi Virtual Experience will take place in the Cathedral of the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, a space dedicated to hosting cutting edge Italian cultural events.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Ministry of Arts and Culture, Ministry of Tourism, the City of Milano and the City of Florence and part of the Return to the Future initiative promoted by the Cultural Office of the City of Milano

VIRTUITALY is addressed to a large audience and wants to engage schools, families, universities and art, technology and digital humanities enthusiasts.

The nature of the event and the immersive and interactive technologies allow visitors to customize the experience and the level of detail according to their own interests and needs.

The novice can discover the treasures of the Uffizi Gallery, while the specialist can re-discover the artworks with new enabling tools and innovative learning paths.

VIRTUITALY is a startup that was established in July 2015 as a spinoff of Centrica, with the goal to valorize the Italian cultural and creative patrimony by organizing interactive virtual exhibits: they specialize in cultural events with a strong emotional impact that entertain while they teach.

The collaboration with the Uffizi Gallery, started in 1999, brought the company to invest in a product, Uffizi Touch®, presented at the Shanghai EXPO 2010, and developed till the last Cloud version, that allows a unique experience with the artworks of one of the most important museums in the world.

View any detail of a masterpiece, follow correlations with other artworks or other details, explore multimedia content with smartphones and tablet through proximity networks.
