Dear Friends, It seems amazing to me that this will be my final letter to you as your Regional Director. These last three years have been epic. In my home office, I have a lovely turquoise box which was a gift from my children, which is overflowing with cards, letters, small gifts and tokens I have received from UFDC members during my tenure, which I treasure greatly. As an RD, it was part of my responsibility to take care of you, but you have taken care of me. It has been my privilege to enter your homes and meeting places both in person and through Zoom calls. It has been wonderful to see all the creative, talented, resilient, and caring members represented by this organization. I have seen such extraordinary, and in some cases, humble collections, with individuals sharing their time and talents so freely with others. To hear time and again, “I may have shoes to fit that doll,” or “sure I’ll send you the website where I found that information” - such a great exchange of resources and information! It is amazing that the love of dolls can bring together such diverse individuals, some brainiacs, some super creative, and some sideline enthusiasts. I am so appreciative that UFDC gave me this marvelous opportunity to serve you, big hugs to you all. I know we all are in happy anticipation of getting together again in person, (of course responsibly). I believe we shall hit future doll shows and events with even great fervor than before!! And we will be even more enthusiastic to share our love of dolls with others.
