AF BAHTIYARI, MUHAMMED İBRAHIM ; DURAN, KERIM (2012-2013)

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2013, Vol.41, pp.283-290

Wool is an outstanding, multifunctional natural fiber. Its physical and chemical structure makes it valuable

since the ancient era of the humanity. However, preparing wool for end use is difficult and complicated, so it

needs intensive care on every production step. Its treatment steps start while wool is on fleece form. Among

those processes, scouring of raw wool fibers is a strenuous work. Besides this, it is the first step can

influence the destiny of the wool for subsequent usages. As it is known, raw wool fleece includes

contaminations which can weigh the half or more of the raw wool. more

A usability study on human–computer interface for middle-aged learners

(article)

AF CHOU, JYH-RONG ; HSIAO, SHIH-WEN (2007)

Computers in Human Behavior, 2007, Vol.23(4), pp.2040-2063

“Usability” is considered to be inherent in human–computer interface because it expresses the relationship

between end users and computer applications. In this paper, we conducted a study to examine the usability

of human–computer interface for middle-aged learners in Taiwan. There are two phases contained in the

study: (1) an elementary computer-training task, and (2) a usability analysis of human–computer interface.

Making use of a questionnaire survey, correlation analysis, and the grey relational model, some user

characteristics and learning behavior were derived. For example, regarding more

Collaboration in web design: Sharing knowledge, pursuing usability

(article)

AF ALBY, FRANCESCA ; ZUCCHERMAGLIO, CRISTINA (2008)

Journal of Pragmatics, 2008, Vol.40(3), pp.494-506

This article analyzes how and why collaboration is useful in web design. Through an analysis of interactions

in an Italian Internet company, the article shows that collaboration is the system used by designers to

improve organizational functioning and the quality of products. In particular, it shows that collaboration

supports certain crucial work activities, such as the planning of new products and the pursuit of interface

usability. To perform these activities, designers draw on specific interactive resources, such as a repertoire

of skills shared by groups of different professionals and more

The role played by perceived usability, satisfaction and consumer trust

on website loyalty (article)

AF FLAVIÁN, CARLOS ; GUINALÍU, MIGUEL ; GURREA, RAQUEL (2006)

Information & Management, 2006, Vol.43(1), pp.1-14

We performed a study to determine the influence that perceived usability has on the user's loyalty to

websites that they visit. The results of the empirical analysis confirmed that the trust of the user increases

when the user perceived that the system was usable and that there was a consequent increase in the degree

of website loyalty. In the same way, greater usability was found to have a positive influence on user

satisfaction, and this also generated greater website loyalty. Finally, it was found that user trust was

partially dependent on the degree of consumer website satisfaction

Usability testing of a prototype Phone Oximeter with healthcare

providers in high- and low-medical resource environments (article)

AF HUDSON, J ; NGUKU, S M ; SLEIMAN, J ; KARLEN, W ; DUMONT, G A ; PETERSEN, C L ; WARRINER, C B ; ANSERMINO, J M

(2012)

Anaesthesia, 2012, Vol.67(9), pp.957-67

To increase the use of pulse oximetry by capitalise on the wide availability of mobile phones, we have

designed, developed and evaluated a prototype pulse oximeter interfaced to a mobile phone. Usability of this

Phone Oximeter was tested as part of a rapid prototyping process. Phase 1 of the study (20 subjects) was

performed in Canada. Users performed 23 tasks, while thinking aloud. Time for completion of tasks and

analysis of user response to a mobile phone usability questionnaire were used to evaluate usability. Five

interface improvements were made to the prototype before evaluation in more

The role of perceived usability, reputation, satisfaction and consumer

familiarity on the website loyalty formation process (article)

AF CASALÓ, LUIS ; FLAVIÁN, CARLOS ; GUINALÍU, MIGUEL (2008)

Computers in Human Behavior, 2008, Vol.24(2), pp.325-345

The increasing competitiveness in electronic business is motivating varying research on the principal

antecedents of consumer loyalty. However, previous research is too scarce, so that there are notable

aspects which must be analyzed in-depth. This research has focused on new topics about the development of

online consumer loyalty, such as the role of familiarity and usability. Firstly, we analyze the effect of

usability, reputation and satisfaction on consumer loyalty. The results have revealed the existence of a

positive and significant influence of reputation and satisfaction on website more

As it is known, raw wool fleece includes

contaminations which can weigh the half or more of the raw wool. more

Objective We tested the usability of a patient-directed decision aid (DA), intended for patients with early

stage papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) deciding to accept or reject adjuvant radioactive iodine (RAI)

treatment. This decision is complicated by uncertainty of the medical evidence relating to potential

treatment benefits
